Does any1 no any decent uni's that have physio courses?
Can anyone help me find a university that provides a physiotherapy course which i can then go on to specialise in sports physiotherapy???
My husband is a physio and he did his degree at Queen Elizabeths in Birmingham. I don't know if any college specialises in sports physio as I believe that all training is done under the NHS so the emphasis in on all areas of hospital work under the assumption that physios will work there after graduation. Would be worth checking though as it was a while ago when he graduated. Hubby moved to private work and got lots of sports work under his belt when we lived in Hong Kong - Rugby Sevens etc - so it can be done. Good luck if you decide to go ahead.

Anyway, my daughter is doing Occupational Therapy at York, but you can also do physiotherapy there.

Hi Milly - welcome to the forum.
My tip would be have a look on the UCAS website - www.ucas.com and search by course. Get the prospectuses or have a look on the Uni websites. If there are a few that take your fancy, then go along to an Open Day - you can tell a lot about a University by how it treats you (and particularly your parents) on these days. If you have already missed Open Days, and most of them have already been and gone, then contact the Admissions Tutor in the department of the Unis that you are interested in, and ask if you can come and visit. Again, if they are really worth going to, they will bend over backwards to help (bending over backwards could be good for a physio course.....)
Another hint, once you have decided where you want to go - when you do your personal statement, give it a lot of thought. Because, contrary to popular belief, Admissions people do read personal statements!

I'm at cardiff studying physiotherapy
It is one of the best courses for physiotherapy - along with nottingham and ulster - but the best course is a very personal thing - but reputation alone cardiff nottingham and ulster tend to be the top ones, personally the lecturers at cardiff are brilliant
cardiff does offer a masters in sports physiotherapy but all undergraduate programmes are basically very very similar in content - purely because they are all regulated by the health professions council and the chartered society of physiotherapy - the courses differ in the way they are organised and taught.
as for sports physiotherapy - dont overly emphasise the fact you want to do sport - because there is sooo much more to physio than that and most admin tutors will discard a personal statement that is too directed towards sport - mention all areas that physio will be working in - and you will need work experience
if you want any advice on anything feel free to give me a personal message and il try to help
