Albums you've played to death

Post by Kinoulton »

OK, we can all claim to own a classical music album, a blues album, an album of Peruvian pan pipes accompanying whale songs, but in my experience, what we play until the grooves have won out is plain old mainstream rock.

I confess to having played to death:

Parallel Lines - Blondie
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
Everything Must Go - Manics
Brothers In Arms - Dire Straits
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Joshua Tree - U2
The Raw and The Cooked - Fine Young Cannibals
Automatic For The People - REM

Please add your list of shame. Including Abba.

Could the Dr Hook album be "Sometimes You Win"?

Out of interest, the top 10 worldwide sales are:

Queen - Greatest Hits (1981)
Beatles - Sgt Pepper
Oasis - Morning Glory
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms
Abba - Gold
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Queen - Greatest Hits II (1991)
Freaky idiot - Thriller
Freaky Idiot - Bad
Madonna - Immacualte Collection

Nice to know that none of us put those last three on our lists!

And can you believe that Dido gets in at #15 and #22? Way above, for instance, Abbey Road which is at #66, Revolver (nowhere) and The White Album (nowhere).
