Olympic Games

Post by Suz »

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone is interested in this years olympics. I usually love it, but am not that bothered this year. I wonder if its because of the time difference?
I love watching the eventing, but am not staying up to 2am to watch it!

Love any big sporting event.

Watching the Beach Volleyball on Feed number 4 at the moment. :smt002

The Swiss are apparently dreadful at it. Probably because they don't have any beaches.

Whenever the Olympics is on I do like watching the runs (100m - 500m? ones). It's incredible how fast some of the atheletes can run!

The same with the long jump, they can run fast on the run up and then jump under 8 metres?! Insane! I can't even jump 2 metres! :smt005 :smt005

I watched the highlights of the opening (couldn't watch it live because of the time it was on, my boss wanted me to work for some reason!) Other than that, I shall take vague notice if Britain wins something, and probably watch the closing ceremony (or highlights). Right now my attention is less on China and more on the Russia/Georgia borders since I know a Georgian couple through a chatroom.

I love the Olympics. I'm off to Beijing on Monday and have got tickets for loads of events though nothing for swimming, cycling (big disappointment that as we are going to win so many medals in the velodrome), diving or archery. hope we might get somethign when we are there.

but going to both days of the rowing, white water canoeing, badminton, triathlon, track and field - and the closing ceremony. and we'll watch the marathons on street.

will take a Tigers shirt for the obligatory pic in front of the flame!

there is wifi in quite a few places so I may manage to post something from there.

I thought Britain would do well at canoeing - but then we put our top canoeist in prison for 3 years. :smt003
