Well, I suppose there might be a good non-PC reason, like the possibility of there being a blind person who knows of a really good candidate who wouldn't see the advert. Or maybe it's a just a waste of time and money resulting from an absurd diversity policy operated by a bunch of risk-averse eejits for whom the worst thing that can possibly ever happen is a challenge on human rights or discrimination grounds, worse even than letting a still-dangerous psychopath out onto the streets.

You might think that; but I couldn't possibly comment. :smt002

It takes me back to an ad that went in the newspapers about thirty years ago.

It was for Builders' Labourers and specified that both men and women could apply, providing they could carry the requisite weights and would take their shirts off during hot weather.

Actually, I'm with the Italian court on that one - it's not that the court's being PC, rather that the Italian military authorities are being bonkers. What has your sexuality got to do with whether you can drive or not? Unless you insist on wearing a limited visbility gimp suit, I suppose.

Being Italian military, who knows? Maybe they do all wear gimp suits.

...and also, are they saying that if you're REALLY mentally ill, you can still drive for a year?

A lovely state of affairs if your family gets mown down by a bloke who thinks he's an armadillo working under God's instructions.

My PC went too far once. It slept with its own sister, robbed a bank, abseiled off the tower blocks in canary wharf and hijacked a plane. i don't switch it on anymore. it just gets too crazy :smt031
