Parks in Leicester hit by plant thieves

Honestly, these people are beyond words. "I pay my Council tax" permits you to dig up and remove plants for the enjoyment and benefit of all in a city park? And not just young yobs, but old ladies with shopping baskets at it as well.

Added to that I heard today that the Springwatch Breathing Places nature patch in Milton Keynes (similar to the one I worked on in Leicester) has been ripped apart, vandalised and now set on fire.
Words fail me. (at least, words I can use on here anyway!)

Symptomatic of the collapse of law, order and moral values.

I await news of prosecutions more in hope than expectation.

Disgusted of SW Leicestershire
I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game

The comments following that article are unintentionally hilarious.

The article describes people carefully taking the plants and then replanting them in their own gardens.

Then someone blames mindless yobs.

Yeah, well my life is blighted by noisy yobs who only care about how nice their gardens are.

And then some racist has decided that the problem stems from foreigners not learning English.

Is it me?
