Forest v Leicester - the Re-Match.

Post by Kinoulton »

The LC game that was abandoned is being re-played tomorrow.

I work with a load of Leicester City fans who admit that, had the uriginal game continued, Forest could have scored a hat full of goals, such was their domination.

Trouble is, as the underdogs, which Forest are, you usually only get one crack at these ties. The second game nearly always goes to the favourites.

However, Forest got their first League win on Saturday (2-0 away at Port Vale, wooo-hooo!) and have no more injuries so might be unchanged.

Added spice at the City Ground of course, as everyone there thinks Megson is a total tw*t. I'll be in the Trent End giving him a traditional warm Nottingham welcome. :smt067 :smt068 :smt070 :smt071

From what I can gather not many Leicester fans like him either!

It could be a unique occasion with both sides abusing Megson.

Personally, I think he can't be all bad, as he took Forest down. :smt005 :smt005 :smt005

Goal to Forest first minute - City apparently allowed the Forest goalkeeper to walk straight through them to score, right from the kickoff. It's thought to be a gentlemen's agreement as Forest were 1-0 up in the abandoned game.

Megson disappeared down the tunnel though...

That feels really good...the last time City beat Forest at the City Ground was about 1970, though we have come close (notably a few years ago, when City were leading 2-1 at 90 mins and the ref seemingly decided to play on until Forest equalised) so to beat them tonight, with 2 goals in the last 2 minutes and having given them a goal start...brilliant :smt001

It was agreat gesture by Leicester to "give" Forest a 1-0 start.

Everyone in the media is applauding it, as were the Forest fans of course.

So well done.

Everyone at work here today (in Nottingham) is full of praise for the way Leicester have handled themselves. Leicester were full of praise for Forest after the original match was abandoned.

For once football seems to have held it's head up high and doen to right and honourable thing. Well done Forest and City.

That was a lovely gesture and shows football in a better light.

Well done to both teams who played in the true spirit of sportsmanship.

Calderwood was very generous. With Forest 2-1 up and apparently coasting into the next round, he took off his two best players, Neil Lennon and Nathan Tyson.

Hey presto, Leicester pinch it at the death, 2-3.

Megson has shown he's not a complete :censored: as well. It seems he immediately made an approach for Tyson. Hands off, damn you!
