Funeral For a Friend

Post by banbury tiger »

No my friend hasn't died, but they are a welsh emo/post hardcore band from Wales. I've liked them for a few years and they are now finally breaking into the charts. Currently they are at 16 with "Into Oblivion". The new album "tales dont tell themselves" is lighter (probably why they are now more popular) but I was just wondering, who, if anyone has heard of them ??

Yeah! Bought their new album the other day.. but haven't had much of a chance to listen to it yet. Heard Into Oblivion a month or two ago and loved it... so was waiting for aages til it came out! My friend then got me addicted to Roses For The Dead, which I had on repeat for ages! Want to try and get their old albums

I like 'em. Haven't heard a lot of the new album though. My fave song by them is 'You Want Romance?'.

Yep, have heard them. Got a few live tracks somewhere too.
They are ok, much better than the normal dross on the radio 1 playlist and in the charts but there are better out there.

FFAF are a bit annoying, in that they write some really great songs, (History, most open heartbreak, into oblivion, roses) and then go and write a load of songs that aren't so good. The new album is no exception really, but on the whole their new sound is a lot better I reckon, very big and epic.

there older stuff is much better, trust me!

the earlier stuff is - Hours, Casually dresses and deep in conversation, and seven ways to scream your name if you want them.

'Four ways to scream your name' and 'between order and model', seven ways... is the american release.
