'The Mothers'

Post by DCat »

Someone recently asked me who 'The Mothers' were and I think I'm getting too senile to remember exactly. CT, Rizz, Pam - can you remind me?

it was certainly the four of us, plus possibly KarenH? I've gone back to late 2005 in posting history and can't find a definitive thread where we created ourselves (so to speak) but I seem to recall it began with some of the teenagers on here complaining about their respective mothers and some of us defending mother-like behaviour!

I'm still a Mother and a Moderator though :oD

Simon, that cannot be true, everyone has somthing to complain about with their mother, it's a fact of life
Donncha O'Callaghan and Bruce Reihana are the best players that ever lived. Don't even bother to argue with me.

And - however good Imanol Harinordoquy is, he is still an idiot

I seem to recall we were wanting a group where we could bang on old curmudgeonly-like about everything, our very own grumpy old women group and hold "Mother's" meetings where we grow old disgracefully and generally embarrass the youngsters. It has been my goal in life for some years now.

I think we're doing quite well ?

It's not a cult it's a collective - am reading "Join me" at the mo, anyone else read it. V. funny.

That's what I thought.

I've taken to randomly shouting at people that get on my nerves - cyclists on pavements, people who smoke on the bus, people who play their music on speakerphone, that sort of thing - and embarrassing my daughter.

Mission accomplished. She's going to hate coming to Twickenham with me!

DCat - mothers are MEANT to embarrass their daughters! And it's good to release your stresses by yelling at passing cyclists, bus passengers and so on. I frequently sing along loudly to music on the radio or CD player in the car, and my kidlet gets quite twitchy when I argue with the radio presenters too....

That's the beauty of the electronic age - you can still embarrass them were ever they are.

Blimey. Is there really a virtual equivalent of stopping your son in front of his friends, pulling out a hanky and wetting it with spit and wiping his face with it?
