global warming who's responsible? how to survive?

Post by burly bill mclaren »

forget the wishy washy liberal line were all to blame

I believe it is almost totally the fault of the govt and the huge corporations. for allowing oil to rule the world, fo rgeedily overpolluting the planet, for always putting mass prfitand full scale production first.

The people in power have the power to regulate all things. BUt instead of looking long term and implementing stricter guidelines in their own nations and then having the right to influence other pulluting nations. the politicians have sold the planet down the river just to get their hans on more votes for a few extra jobs

IF these professional iars are REALLY so concerned and wnat us to pollute and drive less then why are
they destroying inner citities and town centres all over UK and forcing us all into these enormous endless industrial shopping zones wherewe all HAVEto drive to? meanwhile town centre rental sfor small businesses have doubled across the UK in the past 3 years?

so much for small businesses who they couldntgive a **** about or pollution. these little coubncillors are just about the kickbacks of biggerfirms and tax on the cars

oh and in order to pollute the towns lESS haveyou noticed there are fewer and fewer bins and toilets around everywhere you go? oh and lets not forget they are now reducing bin collections to fortnightly? FILTHY. meanwhile council taxes go up and up (they were only £60 under thatcher now over £1000 on average, but thats ok its labour? - DOUBLE STANDARDS)
oh and they will fine you £80 a time if they see a bin bag left out too early

this is a police state where those in power have actively undermined the church in order that politicians have total command over the preaching and Moral control. they have become judge, jury , executioners and the policedont work for US to protect US anymore as they should, they work for the govt to protect the govt.

they all in the end just say 1 thing do another.
anytime a politician says anyhting like we really must do something this really matters. they always go about it in a totally ingenuous way. always choosing path of least resistance (the indiviual). always avoiding the path of most resistance (the power/wealth/conglomerates)

THESE PROFESSIONAL LIARS ARE KILLING THE PLANET NOT THE INDIVIDUAL THE INDIVIDUAL IS JUST TRYING TO SURVIVE BUT LONG TERM the individual is dead

I believe humans have contributed slightly but I am more inclined to believe it is a natural process.

And the cows are partly to blams. All the methane they are releasing into the environment is worse than the pollution emmited by cars.

Global warming is a load of rubbish.

Temperature of the planet has been shown to rise naturally and then go back down again.

Just people worrying.

The earth has been proven to warm and cool naturally over a long period of time. Whilst there is no doubt that global warming is occurring I am less convinced by the argument as the industrial revolution only took place a 100 or so years ago so the amount of time that they have had to measure the impact is greatly reduced.

I would be more concerned with our consumption of the earth's resources. They are not endless, yet people seem to think they are. What's more worrying is that in two of the worlds fastest growing nations (India and China) people aspire to the western lifestyle which will have even more of an impact on the earth.

Earth is a finely balanced system. We have got to learn to live within Earth's means sooner rather than later otherwise there is the potential for it to go terribly wrong.
And the cows are partly to blams. All the methane they are releasing into the environment is worse than the pollution emmited by cars.
Why do you think there are so many cows in the world? Because there is a human demand for meat. If you then add in to the equation that in South America vast swathes of rainforest are cut down to allow for cattle grazing for the major (western) fast food industries, removing some of the earth's ability to process CO2 and it makes for bad reading.

You can and indeed it is being done very successfully in some parts of the globe. However these younger trees won't be able to process as much as the older trees. More CO2 has an incredible knock on effect: Increase in CO2 = increase in temperature. Increase in temperature = melting ice. Melting ice = less 'white' to reflect the suns rays and more 'dark' (the sea) to absorb them. So the temperature rises further and changes the climate of regions around the globe.

Also by cutting down trees in the rainforests you're ruining a habitat for hundreds of species, some of which probably haven't even been discovered yet. Also cutting down these trees often results in the eroding of fertile topsoil that has taken thousands of years to create because there are no tree roots to hold it together.

who exactly is chopping down the rainforests? can we pinpoint this to a particular govt / companies?
are there other areas of similar ecological importance also being destroyed?

to reduce the clubs carbon footprint, i.e. all the fossil fuel burnt by the fans and players travelling to Welford road. Is is proposed to make each home game carbon neutral. The first opportunity for this to happen will be on saturdy next when the club will plant two trees on the pitch at around 17:45. These will be near the side lines. A sturdy oak and a pacific teak. They will named cozza and tuilagi. They will be immovable and fporm part of the Leicester forest. Other players will have to play around these trees.
