I went home in just my shorts and bikiki top (still wet!) with the roof and windows down going pretty fast... soooo lovely anf refreshing!!!

I'm sure your way sounds infinitely easier on the eye but I think you'll find that the ultimate way to cool down is to simply flick the air-conditioning switch.

That ould be nice to be at the beach right now! Hannah, and Orla, you're so lucky!

We don't have great air conditioning at Tonbridge RM, so it can get very hot, particularly as the mail machines are on most of the time. Someone brought some ice creams round yesterday, which was very welcome! :D :D :D :D

I imagine in Egypt there is no humidity...it's the sultry damp air that really kills me. Yesterday was dry & hot, I found it lovely. Today it's just muggy & icky.

the problem with a fan in the office is that it just moves the hot humid air about, it doesn't cool things down. Apparently the Government advice is to wrap yourself in wet towels....

I can see that being very possible in a legal office when I'm handling old papers and typing a lot!

Bring on the thunderstorms, I'll be out at lunchtime doing a Native American rain dance!

Some good friends of mine have a swimming pool, which is jolly handy at this time of year!
Donncha O'Callaghan and Bruce Reihana are the best players that ever lived. Don't even bother to argue with me.

And - however good Imanol Harinordoquy is, he is still an idiot

Yeah, we're getting regular 37 or 38's here. Coupled with the humidity, thats not much fun. But here every car, house and office has air conditioning. :D

This is what makes the UK such a lovely country. We've never been geared up for the snow and ice, and now we're not geared up for the heat.

Mind you, there's no nation like ours for coping with a bit of light drizzle.

Ah drizzle........you miss it when it's not there you know. I remember getting back to the temperate zone and joyfully running out into the dreak(?) drizzle to soak it up.

Bat droppings? What I would have given for bat droppings! The best could 'ope for was a quick splosh around in the septic tanks of the local toxic waste dump.
