Uni?

Post by SilensFatuus »

Is anyone going off to uni this Sept?
Or returning?
I'm off to Chester Uni, only 140 miles away EEK, to study Animal Behaviour.
Just found a list of stuff that is recommended to take to uni, copied it into to word and its 7 pages long
So nervous and excited!
Not much rugby for me though :(

Bristol :o :P joking of course!
I'm so scared. Never lived away from home obviously and most of my friends are doing gap years so pretty much the only one jumping straight in.

First time I had lived away from home too, but I reckon I had adapted within .... oh .... about 6 pints !

All the freshers were in the same boat, and we soon found that the only problem was finding time to study

you ll be absolutely fine! im going back to college in september to start 2nd year. i was the only one of my friends to go to dublin to college. for that matter, i was the only one of 220 in my year at school to go to dublin to college!( UCC, in cork is a big college, it does most courses, except mine of course!!) so it was a really weird experience for me. but i love it. my friends in college are like my family. i love them all to pieces. and the only thing better than college, is living away from home!!

so good luck, and have fun!

My lad's just finished his first year at Aston. When he first went, he was my little boy (all 5' 11.75'' of him) and we had a tearful hug. he was home quite often first of all, but when we picked him up last weekend - he had a cold from swimming in the lake (from what I've heard he was lucky to have come away with just a cold), he had accumulated all sorts of memorable things, like a traffic cone (they have plenty to spare in Birmingham!) and a 'Pedestrians Keep Left' sign to hang over his bed (until I pointed out what his dad might say) and was quite emotional to have to leave! So there you go.

Big bummer though, he got home to find his summer job had fallen through. Anybody know of any summer vacancies in Leicester?

Ive just finished a four year Master of Maths degree at Warwick Uni . Got a first too, which was a shock (but a very pleasant one :D )

I was nervous as hell in my first few days but everyone else there is in the same boat and you soon make loads of friends from halls, courses, societies and sports. Ive had a quality 4 years and am gonna miss it in September when I have to start work (and have to get up for 9am starts every day!!!).

My daughter's off to Royal Holloway (hopefully) to do Psychology. Anyone else going there? She's a bit scared. Her boyfriend's going to Jesus, Cambridge and she''ll miss him. Ah.

dailywaffle i am soooo jealous of your son!! we tried all year to get signs and traffic cones but to no avail. between irate taxi drivers, evil policeman and a sign that happened to be attached to 6 foot by 6 foot fence and so wouldnt fit up the stairs to the apartment, we failed miserably. although, people did have to climb over the fence/sign for a few days!

i got within a mile of Donnybrook and another couple of lansdowne road. wahoo. lucky me. i feel so privileged
