No no no - chillies rock! Have you ever had chilli beer? Amazing stuff - has all the effects you'd expect. Last time I had a bottle, I looked at the label, expecting it to be from New Mexico or something, and found it was bottled in.... Chesterfield. No woner the spire's crooked.

MARMITE = DISGUSTING

I think (generally speaking) that marmite is a 'woman' thing, and that most men hate the stuff and most woman love it.

Other hated foods include porridge and liver.

PS I agree Supermarket Sweep was brilliant.

Normally I would say shut up and eat what you're given.

If we weren't adventurous we'd all still be eating heinz baby food. Acquired tastes are the best of all.

However, I confess that no matter how often I try olives or anchovies I just feel like I've swallowed a load of salt. In fact, olives spoil a good Martini.

With you on that one - olives are good for squashing & then cooking with. Otherwise, can't see the point.

If we're talking about acquired tastes, my daughter loves monkfish.

Good girl. If you can get into fish (and not just the battered cod) then you can look forward to a healthy and brainy life.

Smoked mackerel with horseradish. Best starter in the galaxy.

Foods I hate are many and varied

offal of any kind (including pate)
red meat (ooh, I ate a sausage roll about a month ago)
most shellfish (occasionally eat prawns but never shell on)
most fish (eat tuna and smoked salmon on occasion)
eggs ( have never eaten boiled/poached/scrambled since dissection in biology many years ago!)
game of any kind
fish that's not filleted or has its head on
meat substitutes like Tofu, quorn etc
..............

However, I love

Marmite
most vegetables and fruits (except raw tomato, I can eat it cooked)
seeds, nuts and pulses
mushrooms
bread & cereals
potatoes (love em any way you can cook em!)

and the ultimate in adoration

peanut butter!
Don't waste your time away thinking about yesterday's blues

Sprouts and salmon.

My new fad is Quinoa...it's like cous-cous for warriors!

I do like my traditional stuff like devilled kidneys & kippers.

I hate sprouts with a passion, they are the veg of the devil himself and should be banned under international treaty.

I also can't stand beetroot, even the smell of it makes me feel sick. Sadly my husband loves it and I make him put in in the fridge in the garage so I don't have to even look at it.

Marmite is also just plain wrong, it's like eating salt. Yuk.
