iPhone app

Post by Tom Tom »

I am the wrong side of 60 (just!), so to all you technical youngsters please humour me But (:-)

I have the Tigers app on my iPhone and it has bee working sort of ok but not great. I got this message "Could not activate cellular data network: you are not subscribed to a cellular data server"

I have deleted the Tigers App and reloaded it but it is no different.
I don't get a message when using any other apps which all work fine.

What am I doing wrong please? and how do I fix it?
If it is a known problem and there is a fix on here please point me to it without extracting the michael!!

Thanks & Happy New year to all.

I checked this on my phone and it was as you say, not working, for a day or two. Seems to be all right now for me, let me know here if it is still giving problems.

I have never (yet) been able to use the app during a game - it just does nothing and then reverts back to the normal screen on the phone. An absolutely pointless app if it can't be used when most required.

Try uninstalling and then re-installing it, my friend did that and it sorted itself out.

About 4 months ago, I finally succumbed and got rid of my Blackberry in favour of an Android phone (Sony Xperia S). I've downloaded the Tigers application but I find the display stays still when I rotate my phone through 90°, i.e. the display stays in 'portrait' when I move the phone to 'landscape'.

Is it just me or is this a generic problem?

It's not just you - it's the way the app is designed.

This is fairly common - it's not just Tigers. A couple of Airline apps, the kitchen timer, and the calculator I use do the same. In fact probably more don't rotate than do.

I'm currently sat in my local and just discovered the forum now turns round and gives me landscape on my Android. Hurrah!

Since the App, for iOS at least, hasn't been updated since November 2011 - I would guess that it will be pretty much unsupported now for anything other than major bugs.

The blurb claims that it is the 'official' LT app - can anyone confirm this? Did LT actually pay for this to be developed by a 3rd party and then stop paying for any enhancement support?

It is the official Tigers app, yes. I'm not sure about updating/support etc but I can definitely confirm it is official.

I am now on the wrong side of 50 and have just recently had the same problem as quoted above - I recently changed network provider before heading off to Oz for August and noticed the same message - "Could not activate cellular data network: you are not subscribed to a cellular data server".

It will open the app and I can see the pages but as soon as I try and move to a news item the error message will appear - it will then take upwards of 10 clicks on the same repeated message before I can read the item. Move to another page and the same thing happens.

I've deleted and reloaded the app to no avail.

Very frustrating to say the least and makes the app useless - any ideas pls.
