In my experience SOTIC response time are at best variable between poor and totally unacceptable.

They do not appear to have a facility, as other providers have of posting a message "our servers are currently experiencing difficulty".

I presume reponse times are monitored and Tigers get payments for when they fall below standard.

I which case they are likely providing the servce for free!

It seems OK up here at the moment.

All too frequently the website seems to grind to a standstill and when I try a different page, after about 30 secs. Windows puts up a page
telling me that the page is currently unavailable and would I like to 'Diagnose connection problems'?

The Tigers website is the only one where I seem to get this sort of problem and it is becoming very annoying.

The "powers that be" would wish that we all transer from the forum to Facebook.

Hence they degrade the forum response.

Bill:
They can Tweet until the birds come home as far as I'm concerned and The Book of Face holds no interest for me whatsoever. I'm far from being a pensioner, but I'm increasingly starting to feel ancient because I don't want to zapp app everything.

Whatever happened to good old fashioned communication?

Bah humbug! :smt012

There is no intention to close the forum and replace with either twitter or facebook. In the current age of social media the club would be missing an audience and an opportunity if they didn't have twitter and facebook!

There have been a number of problems recently, and this is the subject of ongoing discussion at the club and Sotic.

Rizzo,

With respect.

The ongoing performance of the website over several weeks/months has been regularly and frequently, as I have previously observed, bordering between poor and totally unacceptable.

The response time/uptime achieved by Tigers/SOTIC is inferior to that which was routinely available in the 1970's over 2400 baud dial up lines and intel 8080 based micros.

To the degree that this cannot be mere incompetence but has to be policy.
