Message Formatting on the Forum

Post by DickyP »

The Tigers Forum uses standard Forum software with BBCode which I am well used to using. However, I seem to be totally unable to make the ordered/unordered lists work correctly on this site: it's not that I don't know how to use the codes - they just don't seem to work. They indent OK, but don't display bullets or paragraph numbers etc.

I've looked at all the settings I can find but can't see any switches etc that I could be missing.

What am I doing wrong?

I get the impression I'm being ignored - that's my wife's job!

Not being ignored, the IT department are trying to find out what the problem is - as far as I know no one else is reporting a similar fault - and I think it's caused some confusion! :smt002 I will see if they have got any further forward when I get home tonight if thats ok.

There's no update yet (just so you don't think I am ignoring you) - can you confirm if you are still having problems and if so, precisely what form the problems are taking? you can try sending a PM to Tigers Webmaster who has commented on a thread further down if that helps.

I think if I'd gone from July until September with no response and then had to remind the forum of my query I would also think I was being ignored :smt018

Since I never did get a reply on this post, I'd given up.

However, is there any chance of the techies letting me know which BBCode options are implemented on the site?

Tried to use strike through today and that appears to be unavailable/not working as well.

I'm sorry I am taking a while to respond but I don't quite understand what you're asking. I am trying to contact someone from the website admin team to direct them here & maybe they can help. I will keep trying to get you an answer. apologies for not being able to answer it myself.

The BBCodes are the things like [quote="Fred"] etc that you get when you use the buttons on the posting edit screen.

They are a standard used on most Bulletin Boards (hence the 'BB' part of the name) like this forum. You can see more info at http://www.phpbb.com/community/faq.php?mode=bbcode#f0r0.

My query is about which of the do/don't or should/don't work on the Tigers board.
