Unless he is amazing from the start of season I don't think he is nailed on for the AI's.

I feel like next season we should have potentially better attacking options.
Espcially with the young lads getting even another year filling out.

Chessum, Martin and Henderson especially will look stronger next season imo, and all 3 already looked strong.
Chessum carrying in that final v his first game this season v Sarries was such a big difference in getting front foot ball.
With his form Steward must be first pick at 15. Watson as you say has some time to make up. With doubts over Manu, Jones may feel he wants Cocanasinga on one wing for the physical option and there are plenty of options for the wing.

He will definitely get in once he’s fit and hits top form mate.

Hot off the Labourgraph press.

"On joining Leicester, Watson is not too proud to admit that he has had to accept a drop in salary, but at this stage of his career, now 28 and entering his prime, salary comes second to title-winning opportunities. And even if his time with Bath has ended abruptly, opting to rehab his ACL injury away from the club since December and denied a farewell appearance through injury, joining a resurgent Leicester seems the best possible outcome."

So have we essentially signed Watson without a medical?

Putting 2 and 2 together and making 5.

the only impression I got was he knew he was leaving and didn't totally trust their medical staff

I'd be interested in when we actually got his pen on paper?

And I'd be interested to hear if Aled & team have had much input in his rehab since he's signed.

Yeah I read the opposite. With him not rehabbing with Bath, whoever he is rehabbing with may even be able to share full medical details with Tigers if Watson allowed it, if it had been with Bath no way eould they share medical info with us...

I suspect that was part of the reason for calling him up into the training squad, to see how he's progressed.

Watson recently spent time rehabbing with England but has not gone on tour to Australia, instead benefiting from a full pre-season with new Premiership champions Leicester. After a tricky few months, his focus is on the future.
Actually got to read the full article myself now (thanks to archive.ph - just put the link into there and if anyone has archived it you can get round the paywall)

The above stands out for me in the article it definitely seems to be he's anticipating a full pre-season which is great news.
