Supporters Coaches - Twickenham Final

Post by sapajo »

Must say very dissapointed that the entire sum of 7 club coaches has been sold out and after half and hour waiting on the phone the ticket office have told me that they do not know if they can book anymore but to keep and eye out on the web site for news. So £200 worth of tickets bought and no transport. If so it will be a bun fight just like for the match tickets in my opinion priority should be given to season ticket holders . So guess will have to try and sell our match tickets on now as no other transport options for us.

Train not an option for you?

I'd think they'll be able to source more coaches.

Fingers crossed you'll get a seat on one of the next batch of coaches!

Not a great weekend for travelling by train as there are strikes planned

I'm considering the train, do we know which trains will be affected, or when will we know?

I don't think that is the way strikes work, its about leaving you in a mess, not knowing how they are going to effect you.

Thought the 'planned/notified' strikes were for the week after e.g. 21/23/25 June

Doesn't mean other strikes can't be pulled at short notice of course.

Strikes unlikely to be changed, also it would appear both sides seem happy for the strikes to go ahead in that week.
I would hazard that any "cheap" tickets from Leicester might have already gone...might be worth trying from Coventry, Rugby, Northampton on LNWR.
Unless the club charter a train.......

Just tried to book onto the coaches for me and bendy-jr - only one place left!

I hope they'll be adding some more in the morning.

There are engineering works scheduled next weekend on the route from Rugby…..not sure how much disruption is likely.

Still a bit undecided how to get to Twickenham . Park on my drive prices have rocketed along with car parking fees and coach travel. All options amount to around £70 taking into account fuel costs to get there. Does anyone know of any nearby car parks apart from the stoop ?

A few years since I’ve been down, we always used to park at the college on the other side of the 316 near the footbridge

If you are open to travelling .....Peterborough to London with a Travel card is £29.90 vs Leicester with a Travelcard is £78.00
Plus, if there are 4 of you, they apply a groupsave discount and it comes down to £78.80 for all four in total. Parking is £5 for all day. Ticket is called a "Super off peak Travelcard" and is available on the day so no need to book.
I'd also add that these are for Gt Northern/Thameslink services only (not GNER), and the 13 mins past the hour train is the quickest available, at just over an hour.
