Dayglo is a classic example of a pest who cannot change his stripes. His face looked like he was chewing a brick after the final whistle he cannot disguise his demonstrable hatred of all things Tigers.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 9:59 pm I've just rewatched, this time using PRTV with the BT comms, not the ITV I watched live, was interesting to see the subtly different takes on things (plus how wildly different one ex Wasps and England 8 read the game to all the others)

At least Deano was nowhere near it!
I watched on BTsport. For those, like me, who missed Sir F Burns post match interview, here it is. Brilliant.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

When given the chance i would always watch the rugby on ITV4,you don't get the constant analysing of every bit of play accompanied by the dronings of Austin (me me) Healey, also his constant Questioning of officials decisions,if there's any kids reading this involved in any sport do not follow this mans example,he is bad for sport, his only interest is in projecting himself.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 9:59 pm I've just rewatched, this time using PRTV with the BT comms, not the ITV I watched live, was interesting to see the subtly different takes on things (plus how wildly different one ex Wasps and England 8 read the game to all the others)
There is also a lot of bias on BT.I think it is about time BT had a complete clearout of their commentary team and started again.
I know these so called (experts) are there to give opinions but there is such a thing as being too opinionated and BTs lot definitely
fall into that category. To sum up I think BTs commentaries are detrimental to the enjoyment of the game.

Finally got around to watching the recording last night. Of course knowing how things are going to end colours the perception, but I was struck by his comfortable Tigers looked defensively. Apart from the first 10 mins, and a 10 min spell between 65-75 mins, Sarries never looked like breaking down the Sinfield Wall.
Things I missed from 2nd tier of the West Stand?
Reffell and Montoya’s breakdown masterclass.
How much more mobile Dan Cole id than 2-3 years ago.
The variety of field position kicking of the two Freddies - Steward a fairly standard high and long boom to give chasers time to put pressure on, Burns flat, fast and diagonal to give defenders little time to consider options.
Itoje - carrying an injury? Was almost invisible, and for a truly world-class player in a big game, something had to be wrong.

Or just maybe our boys were good enough to nullify him?
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!

That’s also possible - and there’s no doubt that apart from Billy V, Tigers dominated the head to heads in the forwards. However, I don’t think it is taking anything away from the immense performances by Tigers to say that one of the finest 2nd rows in world rugby looked off his game!voice of the crumbie wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 10:01 amOr just maybe our boys were good enough to nullify him?
Actually thought it odd that Sarries rarely, if ever, tried to compete on our line out throws. Tigers had looked a little wobbly in this area in recent weeks, and was expecting Sarries to target this. Their generally passive approach in this respect maybe contributed to the impression that Itoje was having a particularly bad day.
Further thought on Sarries - anyone know if they’ve recruited any new 9s? If not that will be their biggest weakness next season

The ‘Sinfield Wall’. I like the sound of that - could be based on the other northern defensive walls, Antonine and Hadrian. Let’s hope it lasts as long as the latter!
Re: Premiership Final v Saracens - 18th June 2022 KO 15:00
Well who knows and frankly who cares. Ellis Genge stated post match that Greens knee cartilage was non existent and Montoya MCL was dust. You certainly would not have known that from their respective performances in the final.voice of the crumbie wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 10:01 amOr just maybe our boys were good enough to nullify him?

really don't get the hate for Austin, he is a really good analyser of the game and best of all even though he clearly loves Tigers he gives a balanced view.
As for his questioning of officials its usually around headshots and he's looking to see players protected properly I have no problem with it. There is a reason he was given the co-coms job over the like of Monye and Dayglo

The crazy thing about this prem win for me is that so many players are still under 30
2. Montoya (28)
4. Chessum (21)
6. Liebenberg (26)
7. Reffell (23)
8. Wiese (26)
11. Potter (24)
12. Porter (25)
15. Steward (21)
17. Leatigaga (28)
18. Heyes (22)
19. Wells (28)
20. Martin (21)
Add in the likes of JVP, Dolly and Kelly that’s a group of players that really could still be together for 4 more years and still be in their prime ages

One thing though Potter and Watson can play both wings but both are predominantly RW ,what happens there?Scott1 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 3:07 pmNext seasons team could beRagingBull wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 3:01 pm The crazy thing about this prem win for me is that so many players are still under 30
