Hello everyone, I had to pop back and post after yesterday's fab result and excitement, so very proud of our lads and the backroom team, everyone really! Had a few moments middle of second half where I thought I'd jinxed them again by hanging up my flag and so on, but what a last few minutes and what a result! If I was physically able to jump up and down, I would have done!
Congratulations to our team :)
(and my Bristol-supporting mate was cheering for us yesterday too. )

Going by team shirts in and around the stadium 6-1 feels about right. Son and I whiled away the hour before kick off ticking off colours of other Premiership clubs, and the only one missing was Sale. Am assuming 90%+ of fans of other club were supporting Tigers (or maybe more accurately, wanting Sarries to lose!) - so it was was massively one-sided.sapajo wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 11:15 amWell I was there and the Tigers supporters significantly outnumbered the Saracens support I would say around 6 to 1.wigworth wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 10:55 am For those of you in attendance what would you say the make up of the crowd was like? On TV it really did look like Tigers supporters were 80% of the crowd. It is also interesting to see the amount of congratulations we are getting from other team supporters on different message boards, I guess being terrible for a while and playing Sarries has softened some feeling towards us.
As it happens, we ended up in a block dominated by Sarries fans, but they were a pretty sedate bunch, and were drowned out from start to finish by the raucous minority from Leicester.

Freddie Burns drop goal was a dream. Pure perfection.

I think of all our title wins, this was the most satisfactory, for me at least.

I was sad for George Ford but when Freddie came on I turned to the neutral fans around me and said, “We will win now as Freddie plays more creatively.”

It will be interesting to see if next season we sometimes see Burns at 10 and Pollard at 12 with Kelly 13. It would also enable the bench to be more attacking as no need to cover 10. I may be deluded but I always thought we were the better team yesterday and if anything should have won by more.

Both defences were fantastic which kept the scoring down, but we were the better sideDownsouth wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 4:08 pm It will be interesting to see if next season we sometimes see Burns at 10 and Pollard at 12 with Kelly 13. I agree, he has not been indoctrinated by Eddie Jones, unlike Ford and Farrell, they are coached to kick and bomb kick the ball, wonder how long Jones allows Smith to play free running rugby?
