Ashton (didn't view Burns as new)
Dolly - he seemed to come from nowhere to England in a blink of an eye, the others on the list all started the season somewhere was my logic bit you could pick any as a worthy winner
Montoya - big boots to fill and dare I say it took it up a level.

Spoilt for choice this year. Kelly, Reffell and Steward being on both lists might mean their vote is split and miss out on either award. Just need to work out how to balance the books when the young players contracts are up for renewal

Newcomer - Burns. Feel like he has been marginally more influential than the others in key games.
Young player - Reffell. Consistently outstanding
Player - Montoya. All round contribution to the improvements seen in the forwards. Scrum, line out, tackling and of course tries.

Ashton, Chessum and Reffell.

Burns in my view isn’t a newcomer but anyway, Ashton’s impact has been sensational given what position he was in 2 years ago. Chessum was at Nottingham this time last year and his rise has been meteoric. Reffell just gets it over Montoya. Every game he has key interventions and his impact is there to see every game.

Burns, Kelly, Montoya.
Cheering on the Tigers in Detroit.
Previously a slower, shorter, less good looking version of Tom Croft.

Ashton

Kelly

Reffell

Isn't it wonderful that we don't agree.....it means we have such a great pool of talent in our squad.

Like everyone I’m just pleased it was so hard to pick.. there were several in 2 of the categories and 2 in the other one but I went for

Burns
Outstanding back during 6 nations

Dolly
Came from absolutely nowhere to be brilliant for us when TYs future was uncertain, Clare was injured and Montoya was with the Pumas. Then picked for England and just when flying High the poor devil has some clown land on his knee.. the trouble is with a lot of the others is they’ve been around for seemingly so long they see like old guys

Weisse
You could make A case for this bloke to be MOM for every game he plays .. we look a different team when he is on the park.. he is exactly what we have longed for all these years and now he is here in the flesh .. a living breathing raging bull of man .. what a player!!

But I can see everyone else’s logic for why they chose theirs

Isn’t great to really believe all the players who have played this season deserve the awards.
I really struggled such has been the outstanding performances.
Montoya, Weise, Hanro in the forwards really stand out and mainly because I was at Saints which I still see as our best performance of the season: on 11 June l’m hoping I can say the Semi v the Saints is!

Burns, like others, gets the “newcomer” vote mainly because
a) during the 6 Nations he was the best Fly Half in the country and
b) he is a great Tiger on and off the field.
Ashton too has been a fantastic newcomer.
I’m hoping he scores winning tries in the semi and final as he has been immense, but the voting comes before these matches!

Youngsters.
Kelly has shown since he got injured how irreplaceable he is and again, there are so many other youngsters who have played so well but Moroni,is he a youngster( not really but his performance at Quins even got the Quins’ fans I sat with praising him!) Steward was away with England so much, then there’s Dan Cole, who has played like a 21 year old!
I went for Kelly.

In all, no matter what happens in the last 3 matches, every player, coach and all the staff deserve an award for restoring Tigers reputation.

Yes, it is so difficult - there are so many who deserve recognition, even with players such as Hanro , Moroni and Wellsy missing from the nominations.

New player of the year

I voted Freddie Burns, has been fantastic for us over the season, Ashton making a late dart but not here the full season so misses ou IMO.

Young player of the year

I went Dan Kelly, so important and influential to us now, and he's being sorely missed

Player of the year

Montoya, the one the only!
Ellis Genge has to feature, his leadership has been amazing, never fails to lead by example

Thanks for the update TFS. Any news from who attended. I think it’s pretty much a 3 line whip for the senior squad, so we’re there any notable absentees
