Scotland Williamson is an interesting one big unit who’s never really made it.

How the hell are they still afloat and also how are they managing to get credit to service existing significant debt?!Scott1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 5:42 pm Wasps on the scrounge

Well they delayed refinacing their 35million bond on the ground so they may default on that yetlonglivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 6:48 pmHow the hell are they still afloat and also how are they managing to get credit to service existing significant debt?!Scott1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 5:42 pm Wasps on the scrounge

It looked so good on paper: hotel and casino, the profits from which gave you a free rugby club. At least, that's how I understood it (but I may have got it round my neck). So what went wrong?

It reminds you how lucky we are to have our present ownership, even allowing for some of the bungling in the recent past.

Covid.
They've got a large percentage of loan to asset value and it's not an easy asset to shift should they default so refinancing isn't going to be that easy.

I thought it was going belly up before Covid; hence the unsecured bond (Trust me, I'm a rugby club owner - just lend me a few bob)

Anyone know where Pablo Matera is going after super rugby final ? France ?
Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022
Dan McFarland signs a contract extension to keep him at Ulster till 2025.
If we were to lose Borthwick to England McFarland would have been near the top of my list of replacements.

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022
With 14 rounds followed by QF, SF and final they have a max of 17 Super Rugby fixtures in the current structure. After the final Pablo will have played 15 and started 13. With those stats I'd guess the Saders will try to keep him!

Smart move by Ulster. If I was England McFarland would have 100% been on my radar as an Eddie replacement. He's quietly gone about his business and made Ulster both an attractive team to watch and a formidable one on the pitch. He was one questionable conversion away from making the URC Final this season and did alright in Europe as well.
