Just saying thank you for taking him when he had no club, don’t think he is off

Agreed. I'm no expert on the twittersphere but it just sounds to me like a polite bloke saying thank you to the club

Matt may just be feeling a bit sentimental as the hangover wears off. :smt044

Moroni's confirmed he's leaving on Instagram
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Yup, seems gutted about it too, how odd.

Why would it be odd for him to be gutted about leaving if he was not offered a new contract by the club?

No, you misunderstand mon ami. I meant how odd that a guy of such talent, that clearly wanted to stay, wasn’t offered a contract.

I know we can’t keep ‘em all but Moroni was verging on special imo.

Would've been nice to say a proper goodbye (tin hat firmly on)

Reminiscent of when Exeter couldn’t keep hold of Cordero. Unfortunately it happens. When your champions everyone’s stock rises and sadly the salary cap means we can’t keep everyone.

Agreed seems the club who cannot be questioned have decided to leave it to the leavers to announce their own departure. I note Saints fans had the chance to say goodbye and thank all their leavers in their last home game of the season as we used to do.

I love the bloke but he isn't versatile enough to fit in a squad rammed with with swing centres and a restricted salary cap. I hope he does well wherever he goes though, top class on and off the pitch.

I thought his commitment and physicality on the field were excellent. Very sorry to see him leave. Perhaps it was off field things that decided it?
