Post by sapajo »

Danny Care has 4 yellow cards and plays on with no disciplinary hearing. Wiese got 3 yellow cards the a hearing and then a ban

Wieses cards were for foul play whilst Cares were for technical offences, offside, deliberate knock on etc

Perhaps some of us see a yellow card as a single punishment. Care is care-free to deliberately knock on or do something 'technical' at will, which I see as completely wrong. Otherwise, we should have two different cards, and the differential treatment can be clear.

By the definition set out in law, a deliberate knock on is foul play.

Just to add the detail to this:

Law 9: Foul Play
Section 7(a): A player must not intentionally infringe any law of the game.

So an intentional knock on is quite clearly foul play as per the laws.

A yellow card isn't given for being good! So, in gaining one foul play must have occurred by definition :smt017
