A draw in 80 mins could happen!

I was at a family party in Shearsby and told my wife that I would be away for two hours max whist I watched Tigers play Cardiff in the Heineken semi final (at the Plough at Bruntingthorpe).

Three hours later I returned, slightly the worse for wear........she still doesn't believe me to this day that there was extra time and penalties!! :smt003

If my maths is correct

17 internationals vs 19 internationals

Only non internationals in the squads

12 Porter
11 Potter
5 Green
6 Liebenberg
7 Reffell
17 Whitcombe

14 O'Brian
4 Moloney
19 McCarthy
23 O'Brien

That's two beastly teams
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

That’s a brilliant analysis of the two teams in black and white, really shows how close these two teams are. God the butterflies are really churning now!!

And let's face it Hanro is as good as an International, Reffell, Porter and Potter are in fine form and Whitcombe will likely be one day. :smt027

Really don't get having WW on the bench, not exactly a player if you need to chase the game, otherwise pretty much as expected, but having Nemani on the bench is a risk.
That Leinster side is stacked, if Reffell shows up well against that back row he will force Pivac's hand surely....
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Refell, Porter and Potter are better than some I've seen pull on the jersey's of their respective nations!

Agree re Refell, this is a huge opportunity for him to make a statement.

Have tigers ever chased a game this season?
Even when we are behind in the final 20 I don’t remember us playing a typical chasing game?

We always stick to the initial game plan

Wigglesworth is probably the most experienced player in European club rugby that we have in the squad. Certainly in this stage of the competition. There are a lot of players in our 23 that have never been here before so I can understand the desire to have RW in the team.

Very evenly matched teams tomorrow.

Some ‘couch’ stats for you. One of the interesting things about the Gallagher Premiership this season (and part of last) is how high scoring the games are. High scores are entertaining as they show successful attack but also show creaky defence.

1. Leicester have scored on average 30 points in each game this season and have conceded 20 points per game. And they are top of their league.
2. Leinster have scored on average 30 points in each game this season and have conceded 14 points per game. And they are top of the URC.

You can see why the bookies have Leinster favourites to win with a 5 point margin.

I hope they are right!! C’mon Leinster.

I'm hopeful rather than expectant. I think this game may be a bridge too far.

Leinster are the better team on paper, but, as Cloughie put it, "If you're only the better team on paper you're not the better team."

.......nervous!

Only 13 of Ireland's regular starters in that Leinster 15, calling them a very good club side is simply wrong, they are a very good international team playing in club jerseys. It is not short of the strongest side Leinster have ever fielded at a time when they and Ireland have stumbled onto a style of play that they excel at - when they are allowed to play!! So many mouth watering match-ups; front row, half backs, Ashton/Lowe, backrow breakdown, Genge against anyone he runs into - the collisions are going to be massive. Just hope no team gets a red, could be that close that a yellow card is the deciding factor. If Leicester can stop Leinster getting quick ball they are well capable of winning but if they don't Leinster could win with a bit to spare. Those going to the match enjoy, you are going to be spoilt... Off to do the beer shopping!

I hope that there are loads of last-minute ticket sales to boost the crowd, who should be in for a treat! Result? I’m cautiously optimistic!

I'm confident this Tigers team can beat Leinster, especially as we are at home, but they are definitley favourites still. I mean its Ireland!
