Newcastle (A) Friday night -18th March 2022 - PRC

Post by Jimmy Skitz »

so assuming this will be a very inexperienced team but should be a good chance to see some of the lads just below the first team level, what's everyone's best guesses at a starting XV?

I really want to see Lancaster play I think neither Burns nor Hegarty should be near this match

So I'd go something like this

Ashton
Van Wyk
Porter
Socino
Murimurivalu
Lancaster
JVP (c)
Van Wyk
Dolly
Hurd
Martin
Henderson
Ilione
Robinson
Jansen

Vanes
Richardson
Hoyt
Manz
Agbongbon
Law
Cusick
Browning
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Don't clubs have the trump card on U20 players?

If we don't see Kobus van Wyk in the cup games then his goose is well and truly cooked.

They definitely do in the Premiership, thought they did in the cup too, but not sure (it could leave the U20s quite depleted though)

Would be surprised if we see, JVP, if Lenny gets crocked against the French then would cause issues for the Exeter match

He was captain in the previous rounds

Ok so it’s logical he’ll be in these rounds isn’t it. With the game at home against Irish 2 days after we play at Exeter, I would be surprised if he was in the PRC squad, but who knows

Personally for the Falcons game I think he'll be captain.

Yes it means he may get injured at the same time as Youngs, however the odds of two scrum halves getting injured on the same day is pretty remote. We have 3 top quality scrum half options, so we're well covered unless two get injured at once.

Without knowing the master plan who knows. I was erring on the side of caution. I would imagine they will be training as 2 squads now, certainly until after the Irish PRC game, though some players will be between the 2

Presuming we aren't going to lift the players from the U20's (not sure we can for the cup anyway) one of JVP or WW is going to be involved, unless we bring a loanee in from somewhere or Kini is going to add it to his CV?

Some of the selections depend on if Manz/ Henderson are fit...

Looks as if Nottingham don't have a game this weekend.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Scott I recommend the Tigers app for your smart phone. Not only does it show all the fixtures it also shows if they’re being Broadcast.
AMAZING HEH

And yes the Newcastle game is on BT hence the other thread
