I think all things considered 5-2 would have been a fair result.. losing the LBP at the death and dropping off the top of the table is a bit of a killer blow

The defence just wasn't good enough tonight to deserve a win, and there were too many silly errors. Not entirely unforgivable given the lack of experience and familiarity on the pitch.
Vanes very good, Edwards looked excellent, Agbongbon had loads of energy, solid scrum, Jansen seemed pretty handy.
Good experience for some of the youngsters tonight.

Overall a positive night imho. Great experience for some of those young lads who look like they have great potential. Hugely impressed with Vanes.

Think with our point's difference, we're likely to qualify no matter if we get 5 points as best placed 2nd place goes through too?
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Hmmmm.. Saints are 2 points from 2 games and bottom of their group. Irish are 15 points from 3 games and top of their group.. I know which fixture I would rather have next round...

If Sarries don't get 5 points tomorrow Irish are through so with them chasing top 4 expect them to have a real 2nd team out too for the midweek game.OakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 9:50 pmHmmmm.. He looked very comfortable straightaway didn't he. Lancaster looked better on the plays he switched with Socino, think he might end up more of a 12 though his goal kicking was very good. Meredith will be one to keep an eye on though.

Why? This was a very young side, try bonus point, lots of chopping and changing, few iffy TMO decisions

Need Worcester to lose to Exeter tomorrow really. They are also on 10 points but have 2 games left to play and their last game is a freebie against Bath So if they beat Exeter tomorrow then they or Glos will likely get the best place runner up spot. Too many permutations really but I fear losing out on that LBP at the end may well cost us.. time will tellTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 9:48 pmThink with our point's difference, we're likely to qualify no matter if we get 5 points as best placed 2nd place goes through too?

Why? They had a stronger team out. We lost experience early in Robinson and Taute. Fell behind, but fought our way back in. Learned a lot about our fringe squad.
5-2 would have been a fair result, and we weren't far off the win with a bit more luck with the officiating.
