Just picked up that we were interested in Wuss hooker Nial Annett but he's off to Bath. Anything to read into that? Thought we were OK at hooker

With Montoya ensured to be away during international periods we need at least 4 hookers. It likely means OTY is not returning and we're looking if there's any cost effective alternatives to Tom Cowan-Dickie.

With Vanes starting a bit more for Nottingham recently we may not be looking quite as hard

I heard rumours through a Wuss fan before Annett signed his current contract that Tigers were interested in him. He's an underrated hooker IMO. Does the basics well similar to Clare. Not a Premiership starter if you want to be challenging the playoffs but as a second choice behind someone such as Singleton or Taufete'e he's been a good player for Wuss.

I do wonder if we might struggle to keep Clare and Dolly longer term. Both have shown this season they are strong second choice options, if they are fit at the same time as Montoya one will inevitably be struggling to get game time as third choice. I think both are in contract for next season but might be an issue further down the line.

A slightly rogue suggestion here but if we needed a hooker for 2023/24 I'd love Tigers to look at Uruguay's German Kessler. He's a fantastic hooker who wouldn't break the bank. The foreign player rules shouldn't be an issue with Montoya already first choice hooker either as they wouldn't be on the pitch at the same time.

Whilst I'm randomly touting Uruguayan forwards Oyonnax second row Manuel Liendekar is rumoured to be out of contract this season and he's another very underrated player. A similar sort of ilk to Ruan Botha. He absolutely nails his set-piece, especially the lineout in attack and defence, but still gets around the park really well.

Maybe we won't be able to keep Montoya beyond next season?
