Saracens (Away) - Saturday 05th March 2022 - KO 3-00pm

Post by TigerFeetSteve »

Ok this is a big one, I'm going to take a wild stab here and say that Ford will be released from England.

Burns
Potter
Scott
Kelly
Porter
Ford
Wigglesworth
Whitcombe
Montoya
Heyes
Wells
Chessum/Green
Liebenberg
Reffell
Wiese

Dolly
Leatigaga
Cole/Hurd
Green/Synman
Martin
JvP
Murimurivalu
Moroni

So if Ford comes back, for me he starts, he just does... Burns has to play too, so him at 15.

I think Chessum is likely also to come back so into the 2nd row for me.

Cole if at all fit straight onto the bench too.

Kini and Moroni both onto the bench if possible.

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

I’d start Ashton again. Had some good moments and is a confidence player like Burns. Can see Kelly being brought into Pennyhill so perhaps Scott and Porter in the centres with Ashton and Potter on the wings. I’d like to see Saumaki again, but unsure Sarries’ kicking game is the match to try this.

Wonder which if any of the Sarries players will be released. Imagine Jones will retain George, Itoje, Isiekwe and Malins along with Genge, Steward and Youngs. Agree we should see Ford, Chessum and Heyes back.

That side looks about right for me. Tough call with the wingers as I’d agree Ashton would be a good call but would imagine Potter and Nadolo/Porter will start. Maybe Porter takes the 23 jersey as cover for centre and wing with Potter and Ashton starting. I think Borthwick will opt for Nadolo though

Difficult one 7 games remaining I think that 80 points will be enough to secure a home semi, so planning ahead and preserving players key.
That pitch has to be taken into consideration so would personally start with Ashton at 15 and Wigglesworth at 9 also depending on availability would switch the backs around. Also depending on Cole’s fitness and would look to load the bench.

Ashton
Potter
Moroni
Scott
Murimurivalu
Burns/Ford
Wigglesworth
Whitcombe
Dolly
Cole/Heyes
Green
Wells/Chessum
Martin
Reffell
Wiese

Bench - Montoya Van Wyk Heyes/lady Gaga, Chessum/Snyman, Liebenberg, JVP Burns/Hegarty Porter

We can afford to lose this one so would be tempted to rest a few to avoid injuries on the plastic pitch.

Two very tough games against Sarries and Irish away

Would be tempted to go with
v Sarries
1. Whitcombe (IMO Koch will be a excellent marker for him to see)
2. Clare
3. Heyes
4. Green
5. Wells
6. Robinson
7. Reffell
8. Martin
9. Wigglesworth (If anyone knows the Pitch it should be him)
10. Burns
11. Potter
12. Socino
13. Scott
14. Ashton
15. Hegarty

v Irish
1. Whitcombe
2. Montoya
3. Heyes
4. Wells
5. Snyman
6. Liebenberg
7. Reffell
8. Wiese
9. JVP
10. Burns
11. Nadolo
12. Kelly
13. Scott
14. Potter
15. Hegarty

Don’t think Steve will play Nadolo on the plastic pitch

Whilst I understand the pitch concerns, I want us to hand their backsides on a plate, we need to win this one just as much as any other.

Yes,let’s go for it. One more TBP win should be enough to secure a home SF.

That isn’t going to happen they are still a decent side. Long term planning and performance more important

Borths doesn't look into the future, he plays every game in blocks of one. He will approach this with the strongest 23 possible to try and win the game
