True, looks pretty solidly built as well.RagingBull wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 7:46 pmHe does wouldn't be the first speedster from the U20's though, plenty seem to fade away in senior rugby

Ilione finished that off nicely.

Jeez, Ilione left the fullback diving at air there. Big men shouldn't be able to step like that. Young Emeka looks class so far. Hope we see him back his debut in the PRC after the 6N.

Ilione with a lineout steal as well. He's shown a bit of everything tonight. His stats after 55mins were 54 metres from 7 carries and 6 tackles. Couple of turnover penalties as well.

Chessum Jnr on and takes a lineout straight away, he looks massive compared to the other locks.
Really nice first phase move by England. Louie Johnson the reserve flyhalf looks to have something about him.

Ilione looks like he could play 6, 7 or 8 from what he offered tonight. All action is the only way to describe it.
I'm not sure Chessum Jnr needs to jump let alone lifters. Just stand at the front and put your arms up lad.
Re: Tigers in the 6N U20’s
Just watched an excellent display from a young Tiger. Ilione was superb both in offence and defence. I am sure that he will feature prominently at Welford Road in the not too distant future. Under 20, but what rugby skills thatyoung man possesses.
Re: Tigers in the 6N U20’s
Chessum the younger may have a problem on days of low cloud
Seriously, we are well stocked in the pack!

From that Ilione looks on a par with Curry x 2 and Aaron Hinckley as one of most impressive back row talents I've seen at England U20s.
Hopefully he can stay fit and keep progressing. He should be inline for a first XV debut in the PRC at least this season. On that showing I'd personally pick him in the Prem or Champions Cup ahead of Robinson as well.

He has always been mentioned in dispatches by those that have seen him, I haven’t, I have even seen him compared to a young Itoje. Been unlucky with injuries and has his medical studies too
Re: Tigers in the 6N U20’s
Ilione was very impressive, but I always find it difficult to judge players at that level - you just don't know until you see them on the field with seniors. Especially when it looks like he's a couple of years ahead in terms of physical development compared to the others on the pitch. It's one thing to hold onto a jackal when you have 18 year olds trying to clear you out, it's a completely different challenge when Montoya and Wiese are running in.
I hope he stays injury free and gets a chance to show us what he can do for the first team.
Chessum is indeed very tall, but I'm not sure we learnt much else about him yesterday.
I'm not trying to knock these very impressive young men down, but there's a lot of hard work ahead for them if they are to become good Premiership players, let alone earn full England caps. We'll know pretty quickly when/if they get a chance in the Premiership, just like it was fairly obvious from day one that Steward, Manu, Cole, Ford, Ben Youngs etc were destined to have special careers.
This is all from my point of view and based on that one match that I've seen them in. There may be others on here that have seen a lot more of them.

Re: Tigers in the 6N U20’s
Ilione was the England player who stood out the most.
Cusick also looked really good, big frame to fill out in and looks to have a very good passing range.
Edwards mixed some excellent box kicks, but passing was a bit hit and miss at times
