Oh I agree rugby should be played on grass and I’m sure it will be good surface Friday nightOffside wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 1:28 pm Stoop pitch looking similar to ours but more sandy so not quite as muddy as by the terrace. Grass will not grow much under 10 degrees C so not much can be done short term. Under soil heating and artificial light are the ways soccer stadia cope but both are expensive. I still think the bounce on the artificial pitches make an egg shaped ball on grass look predictable and is detrimental to the game.

The pitch is in excellent condition for this time of year.

An average game, but a big 5 points. Burns has to be one of the most infruiting players to watch, ever.

Quins pitch does look to be a little shorter and as per a previous poster sandier

Am I right in thinking that there wasn't a single scrum re-set during the game?
Re: Worcester @ Home - 05th February 2022
Good point but I was impressed how Worcester's scrum matched ours in the first half.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 9:04 pm Am I right in thinking that there wasn't a single scrum re-set during the game?

Re: Worcester @ Home - 05th February 2022
Agreed - my primary reason for mentioning it is that in the past Steve Diamond coached sides have constantly tried to avoid scrummaging when they've come to Welford Road. Re-sets, going straight to ground etc. Fair play to Worcester for taking us on and matching us at one of our big weapon areassapajo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 9:17 pmGood point but I was impressed how Worcester's scrum matched ours in the first half.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 9:04 pm Am I right in thinking that there wasn't a single scrum re-set during the game?
Re: Worcester @ Home - 05th February 2022
Agreed. I expected the scrum to be one of our big weapons but they matched us well in that area. Line out was better for us but SD has clearly had a positive influence on their forwards play. In the end a few simple mistakes on our part gave the a better score line than perhaps they deserved but they did have their moments.
Saints will be a different sort of challenge but again they are very beatable if we play to our potential. Hope we get a decent man on the whistle (Barnes?).

Not sure the Saints fans would welcome that I wonder if some of the injured players will make their comebacks this Friday?Noggs wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 12:00 pm Agreed.
