Probably got my knickers in a twist - was in the cup or the league which awarded "canceled" matches a 0 - 0 and 2pts each. Think it was the league and therefore we will get 5 pts but would much rather be at WR and watch a game.

Below is the Mercury's live fixture summary... does not look good...

11.44am: Sud Ouest report that 'several positive cases' have been recorded by Bordeaux in a round of Covid testing and that 'The UBB [Bordeaux Begles] has informed the EPCR which must decide in the next few hours whether or not to cancel the meeting in Leicester
12pm: Leicester Tigers reveal their team for Saturday's game, but there's no sign of Bordeaux's side - which still hasn't been shared on social media or their club website [1.30pm]
12.13pm: Bordeaux's team news finally drops
12.15pm: France-based journalist James Harrington Tweets 'Bordeaux delay departure to England'
12.51pm: Telegraph journalist Charles Richardson spots a a plane due to leave Bordeaux for Birmingham at 2.30pm had been cancelled
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Says that they were about to depart but were called back to the locker room for tests. More tests have come back positive so a decision needs to be made by EPCR with regards to the match - that is my take from the translation

Doesn't sound too hopeful to me. Great shame but we should know before toooooooo long

"The tests carried out before the implementation this Friday morning revealed several positive cases within the Bordeaux-Bègles Union. EPCR must decide the fate of the meeting scheduled for this Saturday (4:15 p.m.) in England
Most of the Union Bordeaux-Bègles players were ready to set up this Friday morning in Moga, before flying to England at 2 p.m. But the whole group was called back to the locker room. The tests carried out a few minutes earlier revealed several positive cases for Covid-19 in the Girondin ranks.

The UBB has informed the EPCR which must decide in the next few hours whether or not to cancel the meeting in Leicester scheduled for this Saturday at 4.15 p.m. during the 4th day of the Champions Cup."

There's two possibilities

1. Named a side to fulfil EPCR regulations despite not really being willing to travel

2. They named a side (but not sharing it widely as it may change) with the hopes of retests and fly out first thing tomorrow.

I dont think that they could travel on the day of the match. The teams need to be in the country of the match the day before which is an EPCR requirement.

I fear it will be cancelled. I find it all rather odd that all these matches involving French teams are suddenly cancelled. Is it that they have lower vaccination uptake?

Some suggestion on the unoffy that Bordeaux are now qualified with Cardiff getting 28-0 win over Toulouse. So may influence how strongly they protest to play the game?!
