I don't wish long-term injury on any player, but this must be seen as a blessing-in-disguise and a golden opportunity for England rugby to make big strides in attacking play in the build-up to next year's World Cup, with Smith and Ford as the principle fly-halves. At centre, there's a host of talented players who'll now have a chance to express themselves in a way they couldn't with Eddie's pig-headedness in persevering with Farrell.
I'm now really looking forward to the 6 Nations - without Mr Undroppable!!
Semper in excreta.

Johnny Hill set to miss the Scotland game. Do we start with Ewels or move Lawes into the second row?

Eddie is a fan of Ewels but here's Chessum's chance either at 6 or 2nd row.

Could be a chance Chessum makes the bench either way.

Isn't Isiekwe in the squad to cover Lawes, if so then you'd think Chessum has a real shot at the bench
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

If Hill is out one of Chessum or Isiekwe make the squad anyway even if Lawes is fit right? Ewels would start,or am I having a brain freeze and missing someone out?

Only if Lawes plays 6...
If Lawes Itoje is the 2nd row
Ewels would be bench you'd think.
Then back row
Ludlam
Curry
Dombrant

I thought Lawes was injured, but I may be wrong?
Potentially some huge opportunities for new players to make their mark with so many injuries! Will it be a catastrophic tournament for England, or are these injuries a blessing in disguise?

Think he failed a HIA, so is undergoing return to play protocols, which normally take a week or two but can be longer, so is a doubt rather than known injury

Sam Simmons surely comes into the back row reckoning somewhere

IMO he's not the best 6, 7 or 8 available to us so for me he'd be the bench cover.
If he wants to start he needs to outperform Dombrant for the 8 shirt.

EJ likes a lineout option at 6, so would imagine Itoje and Isiekwe in the 2nd row with Lawes if he passes protocols at 6 if not Chessum should get the nod, Ewels is a good club player and OK for the bench.

It’s hard enough to win at Murrayfield when you’re fully loaded, even the 2003 World Cup winning squad found it hard going up there. With Scotland looking even stronger I would say and with our drop outs coming thick and fast, I don’t give us much of a shot of winning to be honest. I hope I’m wrong. Not the ideal preparation with a World Cup just around the corner, but it does give opportunities to others I guess.
