Re: Wasps (A) - Sunday 9th January 2022 - 3pm
Ellis Genge, 100th appearance for The Club Vs Wasps. Congratulations.
Personally, would have liked this number to have increased come the end of the season but .....
Still, never say never.

Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

At the point we released him we had Van Staden & Wiese, add those into the selection mix we'd have a different looking team. We essentially lost 2 back rowers in one game which is unusual. We've then added to that had Chessum and Martin missing in consecutive games too.OakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 4:06 pmI’m sure if SB had known we would end up in this situation he would have considered releasing Brink after the Wasps match. An extra 10 days I’m sure wouldn’t have broken the bank! That being said if we end up winning on Sunday then it’s clearly not done us any harm. I’m not aware of the full situation regarding Brink; might be some personal reasons behind the early release in Which case the aforementioned points become largely irrelevant. Either way it’s a moot point nowCardiff Tig wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 4:02 pm It depends if you think winning one or two matches is worth the thousands of pounds of salary, which could also be used later in the season if someone becomes available.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Is Brink even fully fit? He hasn't played since mid-November so perhaps he was released early to continue his recovery at his new club?
He had 5 months out, made a couple of appearances and then disappeared for another 6/7 weeks before departing - it's a bit of a stretch to just assume he would be available if he was still a Tiger.

Brinks gone, forget him, he wasn't very good anyway, what we have selected for this/last week is in my opinion stronger than with Brink. He wont be missed. How old is Shields, is he over the hill?

I rated Brink, just didn’t stand out that much because the level of our BR is so high. Would’ve been perfect for these 2 games with his ability to play 6,7,8

He'll be 31 by next summer. Doubt Shields would get into our 23 should everyone be fit and he's probably not on a cheap wage. There's better value for money options out there. If everyone is fit for Wasps at the start of next season he might not get in the starting XV there.LE18 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 5:49 pmBrinks gone, forget him, he wasn't very good anyway, what we have selected for this/last week is in my opinion stronger than with Brink. I’m surprised that took so long to get a comment! Agree good player but about the last type of person I’d want at the club.. he’s definitely more at home at Sarries or Bristol

No idea what you have been watching, Harry Wells is a machine, superb 6, first name on my team sheet, second row or back row, we don't have anyone who gives more or works harder and has been recognised by skippy and given an England cap for his efforts, wouldn't swap him for anyone else.

As a 6 I would swap him with 3 players in our squad already.
