Isn't every club investigated now?
What makes this different to other times?

Re: Knives out!
It could be something very minor. There’s provisions in the laws to be lenient in slight runovers due to emergency signings/loans etc. Hopefully it’s like that on this occasion, no matter who it is. Please don’t let it be us.

Could be Exeter, although a guy on Twitter has also claimed he knows one of the Tigers players agents and that it is us.

Did he hear that through their taxi drivers girlfriend?longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 4:41 pm Could be Exeter, although a guy on Twitter has also claimed he knows one of the Tigers players agents and that it is us.
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

I believe that is the suggested route, yesloretta wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 4:56 pmDid he hear that through their taxi drivers girlfriend?longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 4:41 pm Could be Exeter, although a guy on Twitter has also claimed he knows one of the Tigers players agents and that it is us.

See I could sort of believe the guy if he hasn’t talked about us being in the championship and going into financial ruin
New Salary Cap Breach?
Fissler reporting that one of the ‘current top 6’ are being investigated into suspected cap breaches, and that the club ‘isn’t Saracens’. Leaves us, Exeter, Quins, Gloucester, Saints.
The investigation will carry on into the New Year.
Please god, with the season we’re having, don’t be us.

Re: New Salary Cap Breach?
Depends on the level of breach doesn't it. Could be a minor fine for a small breach. I'd be surprised if it was another Sarries level breach.
Re: New Salary Cap Breach?
Some speculation it is Chiefs, their fan board says us or Stains. All the while Saracens re-sign internationals who should be commanding big money.

Re: New Salary Cap Breach?
Any club that has breached the cap after all the comments and repercussions for Sarries is unbelievably naive and well, just stupid. We don’t have anything close to the big name squad Sarries had and many of our players I’d imagine will be on far less than their superstar squad were on. Nobody is whiter than white, just hope we are squeaky clean.
They aren’t top 6 but could see it being Bristol or Sale. Exeter offloading at the moment (as others are).. the irony if it was them!

Re: New Salary Cap Breach?
Quins and Wasps have both in the past been found guilty of minor breaches in the past and have been fined in the past. Breaches can be minor and accidental.
If the rugby paper thought it a big story (which a Saracens size breach would be) it wouldn't be hidden away on page 18 with next to no info other than an investigation taking place.
Well all 13 clubs have a basic investigation EVERY season so this story could be that, or it could be there's something strange that has picked up and they're looking at it further to see if it is within the rules or not, or it could be they've picked it up a minor breach and so are now checking it to just be that and will sanction accordingly.
Or it could be a widespread deliberate breach of the salary cap like we have seen before, however given the scale of the punishment meeted out to Saracens, especially how recently it occured, I highly doubt at this point post pandemic there are clubs breaching it in any coordinated manner.
We should also remember. Saracens were relegated I think for their second breach not the first one which had happened like 3 years beforehand.
IMO this is the rugby paper with a big giant wooden spoon stirring and generating those all important clicks. I'm sure there was a similar headline last year one outlet ran with (that time said top 4 when we were about 7th in the league) it could even be the same investigation going deeper (if someone wants to dig out the old headline)

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

You can see how the "brains" work though.
They are doing well. Much better than last year
How are they doing that?
Squad depth
How do they manage a squad like that within the cap?
I don’t know, let's find out.
OK it may be paranoia. (Running out to Black Sabbath rather than deep purple?) Those anti Leicester sentiments run deep and you obviously can't be that good and be legal. (In the eyes of, say, a Bristol fan after yesterday's event)
