Anyone able to give the highlights of this?

It's behind a paywall?

When are these allegations from?

Leicester Tigers are at the centre of a Premiership Rugby salary cap inquiry into a defunct image rights company and allegations of historic third-party player payments.

Andrew Rogers, the league’s salary cap director, is understood to be investigating a company called Worldwide Image Management (WIM), which was closed voluntarily in February, and its links to the Gallagher Premiership club

“I know the company existed. I know there certainly were third party payments made and I know there is now an investigation with the salary cap manager,” a source told The Times. “This is a big deal.”

Sounds like it's Pre Pinchen and involves a company called Worldwide Image Management linked to Ashgates Accounting and Taxation Specialists.

Those are the highlights.

Worldwide Image Management, incorporated 1999, insolvent Feb 2021. Based in Derby, run by John Jeffs, J Paige. Also known as Greatdray Ltd.
If third party payments made, when and who authorised important. Big fine.

I wonder if this involves our former CEO and his understanding of image rights from his former role as an agent ? The timing is close to him and Manu leaving ? That’s my personal conspiracy theory but I would also align that with a vindictive vendetta from a disgruntled player? Thoughts ?

It also matters if we were spending up to the cap in that season as well. And if we were £200k over the cap (which if we were using third party payments via imaging rights, you have to imagine we would be), then big fines and 50 points deducted.

I don't really want to speculate on who the source is.
Well unless it's proven all fine, then it's prob someone trying to derail our season.

Interesting that our ex head of recruitment appears to follow one of the owners of that company on Twitter...

Almost certainly. I recall some players who left being very bitter.

Anthony Lymn, a business partner of Kasper Schmeichel, the Leicester City goalkeeper. He describes himself on the website of his accountancy firm, Ashgates, as a “‘Trusted Advisor’ to Players (particularly Non-UK Domiciles) and one of the country’s leading Sports Tax Specialists

Suggest it might be more of a tax thing than a Cap thing.
I hope.

Sounding more like the tax dodge bit of Sarries.

That’s an interesting comment cheltexile because he came and left very quickly and was also a former agent who took on a management role at the club

Seems some people have been so desperate to dig up something on Tigers as we are doing so well.. any little bit of dirt no matter how ‘historic’.. reckon you could find something on every club if you look hard enough.

No relegation at least just hope this ‘historic’ breach, if it is proved isn’t used to derail the current teams success. I’d imagine none of those currently at the club were even involved if it’s being termed historic.. we will see
