Potter is always up there. Aside from the final try I didn’t see him in the same light as the others today but he’s a top quality player and always gives it everything so likely I just missed bitsOld Hob wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:10 pmAgreed, but I'd add PotterOakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:07 pm Thought Wells, Martin, Steward and Porter were exceptional today. Brown plays hard but showed some true sportmanship when one of the Tigers players was down with cramp…..he helped to try and stretch it out.WhitecapTiger wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 5:26 pmI would like to thank Mike Brown for playing so well for Tigers today, on his 250th Prem appearance

All of the Tigers team were superb in awful first half conditions.
To be fair to Brown he saved us from scoring two tries with excellent defence and wasn’t helped when fielding high balls by some of his team mates who seemed to back off at the last minute to cause confusion. We sit behind the posts and in the second half Ford’s kicking was so varied that any full back would have struggled.
Great effort by the whole club.
Off to Wasps where I will be nervous as we know a team will end this run and they are getting more players back.

There’s some undeserved negative comment on one of the best English fullbacks of recent years. Mike Brown may be in the autumn of his career but his contribution to the game for many years has been considerable.

I’m a huge fan of Brown, he had a nightmare today though.Robespierre wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:48 pm There’s some undeserved negative comment on one of the best English fullbacks of recent years. As a player, he's always been solid and done well for club and country - however, I've never liked his grumpy, miserable persona.Robespierre wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:48 pm There’s some undeserved negative comment on one of the best English fullbacks of recent years. Potter is always a really solid performer.. always gives 100% and always delivers. As I say I noticed some excellent play from some of the others and in the backs I though Porter was incredible defensively with some great tackles but it is very possible some of the Porter-praise might well have been Potter.. either way both had good games and we finally have a full squad all of which are fighting for the shirt and are playing at the top of their game when they get the opportunity.anz3001 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:49 pmFunny isnt it, Potter was my MOMOakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:20 pmPotter is always up there. Some nailed on starters but picking the best centre combination or who starts at 7 is tough. Dolly has really stepped up in Montoya's absence and we have a cracking squad. Porter and Potter have both been fine acquisitions though!

Agreed. Both complete unknowns on this side of the world and maybe even in Aus too. Both EPQ to boot. Excellent pieces of business who will need contract bump ups I'd expect when it comes to renewal time.OakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 7:20 pmPorter and Potter have both been fine acquisitions though!

On another note, thought all the officials had a good game.

Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

I don't comment often, but as a supporter of the game for almost 60 years, who happens to have followed Tigers for 50 of them, I totally concur. Leave the negatives to where they are deserved.Robespierre wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:48 pm There’s some undeserved negative comment on one of the best English fullbacks of recent years.
