I've not been to the CBS but it is clearly Coventry City's football stadium - the blue seats, the absence of any Wasps' branding, and no club shop apparently so it is easy to see why CFC fans are miffed. Looks like their ground but...er, it's not, you don't own it.

It's actually not a bad thread, some good civil posts, with people (both football and rugby) discussing how they feel about the whole situation. As with many situations - it's a "you wouldn't start from here" but they are where they are. Wasps are struggling on the field at the moment where as Coventry City are doing well which I think has exasperated the situation. The stadium was always too big for Wasps per se, we know that but the commercial side could have/should have/could still be a big winner. One of those situations where if everybody could pull in the right direction it would all be much better.

At £60 for a seat they seem to be getting desperate.................................

There is talk on there about the drop-off in attendance some of which is due to poor performance but, surely, some of it must be that, in theatrical parlance, they 'papered the house' i.e. gave away free tickets which has now stopped.

We went to the recent cup game, thrashed them, paid £5 for my ticket, guess there was a crowd of approx 3000 all in a very limited part of the ground. I reckon that there were more Tigers supporters than Wasps, who incidentally if they were season ticket holders, they had to pay an extra price to sit in their season ticket seat. :smt017 There was some Wasps branding.
After the game, we went into the big pub at front of stadium, (bit yuppieish) to watch England game, pub was pretty busy, they didn't sell Guinness but sold some imitation porter, yuck. The casino and other entertainment area looked as though that area could be a decent venue.
Weren't Coventry City FC unable to pay their rent and left, so Wasps moved in, now its Cov. FC who have to pay rent to Wasps, so that could be why footie fans resent rugby club. The security and bar staff seemed to know nothing about rugby.
