Premiership Round 9 - 2021/22

Post by Old Hob »

Curiously, there are four matches tonight. I don't know why and I don't think it's happened before. Anyway, these lesser games are all at 7 45 kick off
Bath v Exeter BT sport 1
Bristol v Saints
Newcastle v Worcester
Wasps v Glios

Tomorrow
Quins v Irish at 3pm BT Sport 2
Sunday
Saracens v Sale BT Sport 1

Whatever the results, Tigers will still be top on Monday

Friday's Premiership game between Newcastle Falcons and Worcester Warriors has been postponed with Storm Arwen set to hit the north east.

The match at Kingston Park has been moved to 18:00 GMT on Saturday.

A rare red warning for high winds up to 100 mph in the region has been issued by the Met Office, meaning there is potentially a risk to life.

Newcastle Falcons said they had decided to call off the game for the safety of our players, spectators and staff.

The city itself is under an amber warning for wind with gusts of up to 75mph predicted.

There is a further warning of low temperatures for the weekend, although the Falcons have an artificial surface so frozen ground should not be an issue.

Met Office head of civil contingencies, Will Lang, said: "Areas in the north will see temperatures below freezing overnight, with daytime maximum temperatures only getting into the low single figures.

"It's important to note that strong wind speeds will exacerbate the cold temperatures we'll be seeing over the weekend."

So hoping for
Bath
Bristol
Worcester
Wasps
Irish
Sale
wins

Also regardless of what happens we go into Europe on top.
Although worst case we would be level on points with Quins and or Sarries.

My sister in Aberdeen says their house has lost some slates and she can feel the house moving a bit, she can also see trees down a little way down the street so it's pretty bad. They've been told to expect power cuts too
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

No rail services north of Newcastle and it's pretty bad here on the West coast, too.

Going to make kicking interesting!

Watching the Bath v Exeter game. You would have thought Exeter hadn’t won a game all season. They look shorn of confidence and ideas.
Their set pieces have gone to rat poo and the driving maul is non existent.
Bath appear totally up for this game. I wonder if Bath have worked Exeter out or that Chiefs are having an off day and Bath are finally playing some good rugby?
There is never any points for 2nd place...

Saints and Gloucester getting TBP wins and Exeter win isn't great for us
But still massively in our hands atm.
