Wasn't that long ago that if we had either of Chessum or Martin they'd have walked into the team. Recruitment and depth has very much improved in recent times. I think Chessum is edging ahead as he is a natural at lock and can slot in at 6, currently Martin is really only playing in the backrow despite playing as a lock in the academy.Soggypitch wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 10:11 am Looks like Chessum has overtaken Martin in the current "pecking order", both cover back row and 2nd row but Chessum is preferred.
Both great players, it's a luxury to be able to choose between the two and only for a bench spot. Fantastic strength in depth in that area of our squad.
They've both been in great form this season so it's a nice headache for Borthwick to have. Should allow for us to rotate over the grueling Christmas period as well when you consider none of Green, Martin nor Brink are involved today but any of the three could slot into our side comfortably.

To win anything we need all of these players, I hope we do rotate players in Europe, but unsure who we have registered, might go and have a look on the Euro website.

Todays DT Sport has an article regarding back chat and abuse to referees and how at local level referees are leaving because of this growing trend. Sarries, 4 times today on TV, marched back, good stuff, but what punishment will they get?Nofrontteeth wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 6:28 pm With Mr,sir, you're very fair Tempest on the whistle what should we expect?

Calum Green comes into the starting side to partner Harry Wells in the Leicester second-row, replacing Eli Snyman who has withdrawn through illness.
The Tigers matchday squad remains otherwise unchanged.

is it odd they went for Green over Chessum? I would assume someone would be promoted from the bench first?

Think may be to do with line out caller - think Snyman and Green have that role but not sure if Wells does. Traditionally more a 5 than 4 role.

Ground hasn’t felt like this before kick off for a LONG time. This should be some atmosphere…
