Well quite.. I think maybe a few on here would have preferred we struggled a bit more than we did so we could learn a little more

Personally I think Steve will have learned a huge amount about his squad today.. you can only play the side in front of you

I think Steve has got it pretty much spot on. We had a lot of players that needed game time and with a bye week next week some senior players needed some minutes. Some young lads have got chances and in a team where they can actually show what they've got.

Wasps played what they had available. They've got an injury crisis. It is what it is.

What a load of rubbish you feel some people writing on here are not Tigers fans . We played the right team a good mix and we can only play what is there !

Shame some fans are moaning! Let’s not forget not long ago we put out a much weaker side in the cup v Wasps and got hammered! As we have a rest week next week some players need game time: we didn’t play George Ford, Dolly, Genge, Youngs, Montoya, Moroni, Wiese etc due to rest and internationals: Burns, Hanro, Hegarty recovering from injury etc etc so for me it was a FANTASTIC WIN.
Move on and all you moaners, that’s fine as long as you are at Welford Road getting behind the team v Quins.

Waste of time, as other posters have said Gloucester received some stick for putting out a strong side in earlier round now we do the same. What do we learn by giving a very weak Wasp side a thrashing, we should be putting out a development side to give them experience. I thought we were better than that. What we have done embarrasses us.

I think SB will have learnt that across the squad he’s got 30+ players who can play the system he wants and get the job done. A good day at the office.

Winning is habitual why throw our run away. We spent seasons fielding weak teams in similar competitions and look where that got us.

Actually, it got several young Tigers some very valuable experience. Some of those wasps players will also have learned a thing or two.
A good win for Tigers - momentum maintained; game time for the likes of Whitcombe, Vanes, Richardson, Lancaster, Edwards, and the new guy; and great experience for Brett Deacon leading the team. What's not to like!

Looked like a good run out for some of our younger players and those that haven't seen much game time this year. Actually I thought it was a good mix of experience and youth in our team.

I don’t buy into this Gloucester comparison.
Man for man Wasps pack was older more experienced, with the exception of 7 & 8, which was negligible. 5 of Tigers pack are under 23, and one of the older players played way out of position, only two to Wasps pack are under 23. I focus on the pack because that’s where a game is won and lost, ability to win ball.

Van Vuren 30 v Clare 29
Alo 27 v Whitcombe 21
Cardall 24 v Chessum 21
De Chaves 30 v Green 30
Tyas 29 v Van Wyk 30 (but a prop)
Prichardie 20 v Reffell 22
Tunney 20 v Martin 20

Backline, is quite to opposite. Man for man, Tigers are majorly more experienced. But either way, you look at the team Tigers fielded, and Dan Kelly and Tommy Reffell are the only players there I feel could lay any kid of claim to being first choice, and even then the Matt Scott/Mattias Moroni centre pairing and Marco van Staden at 7 may disagree. Ultimately if you picked an out and out first team, potentially nobody would make the cut, as such I think this lineup was legitimate for a Premier Cup game, and just emphasises the depth we have built and the fact they all ply to the same structure/gameplan. We had two of last seasons England U20 half back, plus two teenage backs on the bench. Vanes, Hurd are very young for front row, Agbongbon only recently stepping up from Loughborough students.
