Sale - Home Prem Cup 13th November

Post by Jimmy Skitz »

I want to see some of the younger lads like Lancaster play but I don't want it to be a total development team either so something like this would be my choice

15 Hegarty
14 Van Wyk
13 Porter (would be happy to see a young centre here but don't know enough to pick one)
12 Socino
11 Murimurivalu (would be happy to see a young winger here but don't know enough to pick one)
10 Lancaster
9 JVP
1 Leatigaga
2 Cowan-Dickie
3 Heyes
4 Henderson
5 Chessum
6 Smith
7 Evans
8 Brink

Why not more development players? It's an opportunity

a lot of the ones I know of are out on loan, I don't know enough about the ones below them to name them. Also we have some senior squad members that need a game, there are 2 prem cup games so can go heavier with youth the next game

Cusick in the centre and Browning on the wing perhaps. Maybe Brink at 7 and Evans at 8.

I bow to your greater knowledge of the development boys but I thought Browning was away on loan or can they come back for the prem cup? Not totally sure how loans work in Rugby I know in football they cannot do it

Cusick and Browning both with Nottingham I believe but can be recalled I’m pretty sure. Better playing for us if possible. I’m certainly no expert about the Academy Jimmy but have been impressed by both from the little I’ve seen of them.

Lots of players seems to dip in and out with clubs like Nottingham. Lancaster, Browning, Vanes all in the Nottingham side this weekend.

I would go with
1. Whitcombe, 2. Vanes, 3. Heyes
4. Henderson, 5. Chessum
6. Ilione, 7. Reffell (C), 8. Brink
9. JVP, 10. Hegarty
12. Lancaster (Started at 12 for Nottingham might have been a call by Tigers?), 13. Porter
11. Browning, 14. Van Wyk (Saumaki if available), 15. Murimurivalu

16. Clare, 17. Richardson, 18. Hoyt
19. Manz, 20. Evans
21. Edwards, 22. Socino, 23. Cusick

With Hammond involved I wouldn't be surprised if the Nottingham lads are involved.
I also could see potentially some of the Loughborough lads play

v Wasps next week would be tempted to bring in players like Cowan-Dickie, Snyman, Leatigaga and Potter

Also wouldn't be sad to see Potter play 13 or 15 sometime.

No champ rugby this weekend.
Hence why Nottingham Head Coach is involved in our coaching team this week

I just hope other clubs stick to the spirit of this competition and don't flood it with 1st team players.
