Where are all the locks? No Henderson and no Manz? I can understand wanting to give Green and Wells a rest but surely there was a spare tall lad somewhere to pop on the bench at least

Just had a quick look at what Sale are sending down. This isn't going to be pretty.

Didn't Hurd play twice at the back end of last season?

I understand some clubs sending out almost full strength teams, but I think SB has got the mix right here. The Prem Cup is supposed to be focussed on development opportunities and more valuable minutes to build fitness for the likes of Brink.
If we lose so be it, but seeing if some of these debutants can perform in this competitive environment is critical for future squad development.

here's a show reel of Tomiwa Agbongbon. He looks a bit of a find and plays all over the place in a Eddie Jones selection kind of way: number 8, winger, centre (given this match team sheet probably prop as well)

I guess teams on a losing streak (like Sale) want to end it with a win anywhere/how - even if it is against the spirit of the competition.

Not sure what to make of that 23
It’s one thing giving lads an opportunity but another just chucking them in to a very weakened squad
I hope I’m proven wrong but this doesn’t look like it’s going to end well for us

Who else could we have really played?
I suspect we have quite a few players who have played with knocks in the bath and Saints games and needed the rest

A very strong Sale side which surprises me as you’d think they’d want to rest some players too!
It’s a great opportunity to see what the young lads can do and will stand them in good stead!
I will be at Welford Road so hope those of us there really get behind the team.
Nothing to lose but all to gain.
