Do wonder if yesterday highlighted the need for another back row
If we had Brink still it would’ve been

4. Wells
5. Snyman
6. Chessum
7. Reffell
8. Brink

A very different looking prospect.

Difficult to say. Wiese is obviously first choice and we know Liebenberg is also quality at 8. After that, MVS can also carry the ball into traffic and is probably third choice. What are the chances that all three are unavailable plus the emergency backup Martin not being fit.

If the coaches rate Agbongbon as a squad player, don’t think we need any more backrowers. We lacked a carrier yesterday, but I’m sure it would’ve been different if Nadolo was on the pitch.

I mean considering Wiese and Van Staden are both in the boks squad the chances are really not that low
Looking at the prem the average is 8 back rowers.
We have 6 only Wuss and Saints have the same amount we do.

It's a position that does seem to lead to more injuries.
Granted potentially Botia might be lined up as a 2 birds with 1 stone sort of thing.

Was it Borthwick who said with the lowering of the cap, getting players who can cover multiple positions would be the way going forwards. Botia whilst a 12 can cover backrow and yeah could see the thinking there. Hopefully with Nadolo and Muri in the squad, they could persuade him to join. Be interesting if he did join whether that would mean Scott or Moroni leaving. Hopefully we can keep all of them.

We do look short at the moment but I think Borthwick is still looking to reshape the squad and by letting players go early it gives him more wiggle room. Brink would be very valuable now but Borthwick will no doubt have players in mind moving forwards to get more depth in the backrow.

Nadolo did actually like a tweet about encouraging Botia to join...

Though if liking tweets is anything to go by then Marler liking this one is also encouraging lol.

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Botia offered a contract extension by La rochelle.
Not signed though.

Doesn't look promising.

Eurosport/Rugbyrama report that La Rochelle "are already anticipating Botia's departure", with no mention of negotiating a prolongation.
Anyway, let's not hold our breath as nothing's been finalised ............ yet!

Please posters don't keep mentioning Brink, he's gone, forget it, I'm surprised RB that you mentioned it, we have what we have and cant bring him back, we let him go because he was not good enough and always injured.
