I'm just hoping the signing of Robinson isn't a dry run to see if he can be Reffell's replacement because Reffell has suggested he will be off next season.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

My feeling is the situation with Robinson is as it seems. Replacement for the rest of the season and maybe an offer that there may be something on the table performance depending.
Annoying as he was if he is half the player his dad was he will be a great signing.
Older posters can probably confirm if it was Robinson snr who was on the receiving end of Clive Norlings greatest line

So did Holmes leave Tigers for the "Green, green grass that was not home!" expecting International selection.fentiger wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 6:15 pmISTR Costelow went to Wales on a promise.... Now where is he in the Welsh team?
To the world you may be just one person.

Excellent back 3 player would have thrived in the current environment pace and power. Didn’t he score 4 tries in a European home tie.AngusMcCoatup wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 9:46 pmJonah Holmes is registered with The Dragons. Newport.

And, IIRC, and a decent scrum half in a pinch!
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

I got some flack, Dokie I think, for suggesting that players going to the regions were likely to be entering a graveyard of ambition.AngusMcCoatup wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 9:27 pmSo did Holmes leave Tigers for the "Green, green grass that was not home!" expecting International selection.fentiger wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 6:15 pmISTR Costelow went to Wales on a promise.... ISTR Costelow went to Wales on a promise.... Tommy would do well to reflect on that

Costelow is a interesting one
Same age group as Steward, Martin, JVP, Whitcombe rated as being one of the most promising in that group.
So far this season in his starts
Beat Lions 36-13
Then
Pumped by Munster 43-13
Pumped by Leinster 50-15 and hooked at half time
Pumped by Bordeux 45-10 hooked at half time
[/quote]
You could say that it was a brave decision by the Scarlet's management to start a young f/h against 3 of the strongest, forward sets in Europe. Always a tough ask for Scarlets. Maybe Costelow's time will still come post the World Cup?
Tommy Reffell is an interesting one. I hope the fact that Dai Young and Cardiff were apparently so accommodating with the Robinson loan doesn't have any end of season 'swap' implications.
