Frankly I'd rather give credit to Peter Tom and whoever else was involved (including Cohen) who decided to blow up the cosy years and reshape the club regardless of casualties. It appears to have worked, and no doubt we will get an inside view one day of what really went on.
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.

Nemzy was 100% McGinity tooRagingBull wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 9:49 am Cohen was the big driving factor with Borthwick TBF
Borthwick was the big driving factor with Walters. Pretty clear that Walters was Borthwicks choice of number 2 from the off.
I do think our recruitment was better when McGinity came in, and I reckon he and Murphy played a big part in getting the likes of Steward and Martin tied up for long term, but I think the staff as it is would've been the same regardless.
Under McGinity we signed Liebenberg,

Thom Smith off to Doncaster till end of season
Also leaves Tigers.

A shame in a way as he seemed to be highly rated at Tigers at one point (think he captained the team in a cup game). Unlucky with injuries, but now he's fit again, and by all accounts, he's played really well for Donny in the last couple of matches. If he can get a good run of games under his belt, it should help his development. Good luck to him!

Shame about Thom Smith, looked promising when I've seen him in the first team. However, with our strength in the back row and Martin not even making the bench this weekend, Smith is a long way down the pecking order. I'd expect him to spend a season or two in the Championship being getting an opportunity back in the Premiership - maybe he already has something in the pipeline for next season if he's only joined Doncaster until the end of this one...

Handre Pollard has started following the rest of our SA contingent on Instagram apparently, more fuel to the fire

Lots of recent Premiership players have come from the Championship. Even we have re-signed players that dropped down a level after being let go - Wells and Chessum spring to mind.Tiglon wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 6:18 pm Shame about Thom Smith, looked promising when I've seen him in the first team. Can't see it myself! He really does seem a good fit here, I would think we have enough in the bank to keep him happy for a bit longer?TigerMac3 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 4:40 pm Right on queue, Fissler reporting Sarries after Genge

Think he’ll end up at Bristol eventually. Maybe not under Lam, after the way he handled himself when Genge was last out of contract.
Would be surprised if he were to leave now, having just taken the captaincy and looks to have local business interests here, but suppose with the cap coming down, it could happen. He’s only 26, one more contract with us then off to the south west.
