25 years old 1 Irish cap, abrasive player. I suppose it depends whether he feels he can get more caps, as to whether or not he leaves Ireland. Irish coach and selectors do like to control the games their squad plays in, Tests, Europe, domestic competition, in that order. Can’t do that if you’re not playing in Ireland

I do prefer that we announce our re-signings all on the same day instead of dragging it out 1 a day for a week.

No doubt intended to produce excitement, but frustration is more usualRagingBull wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 10:28 am I do prefer that we announce our re-signings all on the same day instead of dragging it out 1 a day for a week.
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

I feel this too, especially when strong rumours are leaked well in advance of the official announcements. For example, if the club announce Gopperth tomorrow I’ll be like ‘meh’, even though I think we would do well from the signing and do probably need him.loretta wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 11:21 amNo doubt intended to produce excitement, but frustration is more usualRagingBull wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 10:28 am I do prefer that we announce our re-signings all on the same day instead of dragging it out 1 a day for a week.
When Pollard was announced it took the shine off it a bit as I was pretty much expecting it. You could argue that isn’t the club’s fault or responsibility I guess.

I'd definitely take him! He's a hell of a player when fit. But there's little chance he's leaving Ireland before the World Cup.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 7:53 pm 25 years old 1 Irish cap, abrasive player. I see him leaving Leinster to another province more than anything else

Wonder how much of him we'll see in a Tigers shirt?

Wow ok. So historically I've not been a fan of Ashton at all. Couldn't stand him. But his try scoring record speaks for itself. If he keeps his head down and his nose clean he could do a job for sure.

Well well...a player I never thought I'd see in a Tigers shirt.

So the question needs to be asked why is he needed ? Is there a long term injury we haven’t been made aware of Moroni or Murimurivalu, or is someone being released early from a contract.
I have no problem with him as a short term signing, but with us only losing Steward in the international window and Van Wyk chronically under used seems there must be another issue

Must be method in SB's madness. Short term deal - how short?markharbtiger wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 5:39 pmWell well...a player I never thought I'd see in a Tigers shirt.

Providing he gets his head down and is not a disruptive influence happy to give him a chance. His try scoring record is outstanding but don’t know if he still has the gas.

Nadolo hasn’t been seen for a few weeks. Saumaki and Porter seem to be sharing the number 11 short over the last few games. Is there an injury there?
Potter seems to have the 14 short sewn up, odd that we have bought in Ashton when Van Wyk is already on the books and not getting a look in.
Maybe Murimurivalu is converting to back row full time
