We can't know for sure who the marquees are but I'd say safe to assume that either Genge or Montoya are the second. Probably Gengey.

With Ford leaving we will drop down to 1 marquee player though. So either Genge will need to be fitted into the cap or any replacement for Ford will have to fit into the cap.

If Mako leaves Sarries I can only see it being due to the cap reduction so I can't see them having room for Genge. Sarries have Farrell coming out of contact this season. That's significant for them in terms of the cap as it means dropping to one marquee for next season, so if Farrell re-signs then either he or Itoje will need to come under the cap.

Strength and Conditioning Lead Matt Parr will depart Leicester Tigers in the new year to join rugby league club Catalans Dragons as Head of Performance.

The former professional player joined the Strength & Conditioning team at Leicester Tigers during the 2015/16 campaign, which doubled as his final season as a member of the club's senior squad.

As well as Tigers, Parr played for Sale Sharks, Saracens and London Irish.

Parr began in the role of Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach in June 2016 before being promoted to Strength & Conditioning Lead ahead of the 2020/21 season under Head of Physical Performance Aled Walters.

Speaking about the new opportunity, Parr said: “I am very excited to join the Catalans Dragons, this is a great opportunity to join a great club and build on the successes of last season."

Looking back on his time in Leicester, he added: "I have been fortunate enough to have been a part of Leicester Tigers staff for six and a half years and have loved my time here, through thick and thin, and have gained so much from this experience.

"I am grateful to everybody I have had the chance to work with at Tigers and thank everybody for the part they have played in my journey.

"I will be giving everything in my role until I leave and look forward to finishing my time at Tigers strongly."

Parr will depart Leicester Tigers in January 2022.

A step up so you can't blame the man for taking the opportunity when it comes along. Suspect his replacement may be an internal promotion but we'll see.

Cheeky listen to the Rolling Maul podcast, saying that Pollard will be announced either tomorrow or Thursday. Reliable sources as well so no reason to doubt.

Hope not. Big chunk of salary cap gone for an average player.

There’s mention of Finn Russell on the rugby pod from Jim Hamilton. That would be a huge shock and he’d bring a huge difference to our game but does he suit the Borthwick game plan?

If they name enough players one is bound to be right.

I'm not sold that he is the answer to what we need at flyhalf but he definitely not an average player. He's a world cup winner whose introduction took the final away from us 6 months ago. I think he's got more to his game than he's shown with the Boks but he is very good at game management which is something we rely on.

I'm also very sceptical that he's about to be announced.

I'd say there is absolutely nil chance of Finn Russell arriving. Mainly because I think he has more years to run on his massive contract over in France.

I’m skeptical it will be announced this week, but everything so far is pointing towards him being signed.

More chance of Kurt Russell signing I suspect.

He’s nowhere near as good as Ford but would be on a much larger salary.

Not if you look at recent reports on Ford salary.

Fissler saying we offered pollard half of what Japan are, and Japan are offering 1 million (IF what Fissler says is true).

Would mean Pollard would if he comes be on less than Ford is atm.
