Will be interesting to see if AJ Macginty is fit. He will make a big difference to the outcome imho. Apparently he wasn’t too far off being ready when they played Quins last week so could be in contention but not seen anything concrete

Evening! Big game this on Saturday, probably our toughest test of the season so far?

On the latest episode of The Rolling Maul, we previewed what we're calling The Battle of The Biltong, as well as looked back on the Worcester game just gone.

Personally think the home crowd might be the point of difference on Saturday considering how well the two teams are matched up. Fingers crossed the boys can bring it home for us!

Just seen this:

“The South Africa squad travel to France on Friday for a one-week training camp before heading to Britain for a trio of November internationals against Wales, Scotland and England”

Wonder if that means we will be without Marco and Jasper for this weekend against Sale? And if so I’m guessing they will be without their SA contingent..

Premiership teams don't release players for games outside the IRB international windows. So they will be with us for the Sale and Saints games.

Although the England players will be away at their training camp. Hope you’re right ABClub as that would be a big loss for us for those 2 fixtures

I read that more as the South African based players getting over here into Europe etc, rather than all of them. We'll find out tomorrow when the team's announced

Isn't that a separate deal with the RFU where you are compensated?

England players go to a 5 day camp on Monday, but will be available for Saints although SB benched them all (except Martin) v Sarries when they had been away for a similar camp which makes sense.

We will look a little thin for the bath match - although will have the unexpected bonus of Ford, Nadalo and Muri

World Cup winner Lood de Jager makes his long-awaited return to action for Sale Sharks as Alex Sanderson names an experienced side to face Leicester Tigers in round six of the Gallagher Premiership this Saturday. (Kick-off 3:00pm)

The Sharks Director of Rugby makes seven changes to his matchday squad following victory over Harlequins in round five as Rohan Janse van Rensburg, Marland Yarde and Ben Curry are all included for the trip to the East Midlands. The match also sees a first appearance in a matchday squad for senior academy scrum-half Nye Thomas.

Sanderson names Bevan Rodd alongside new signings Tommy Taylor and Nick Schonert in his front row for this weekend’s test against the table-topping Tigers. Cobus Wiese retains his spot at lock following an impressive performance against Harlequins and is joined by returning Springbok star Lood de Jager in the second-row.

Jono Ross captains the Sharks from blindside flanker and is joined in the Sale back-row by British and Irish Lion Tom Curry who lines up at openside. Imposing Springbok Jean-Luc du Preez replaces brother Dan at number 8.

Sale:

Gus Warr takes his place at scrum-half after impressing the Sharks coaching team whilst covering Raffi Quirke. Gus joins fellow academy graduate Kieran Wilkinson at half-back on Saturday.

Wilkinson, who marshalled the Sharks backs to victory against Harlequins, has the immense power of Manu Tuilagi and Rohan Janse van Rensburg at his disposal in midfield with the pair lining up at inside and outside centre respectively.

Byron McGuigan and Simon Hammersley keep their places in the Sale back three after a commanding aerial performance last week. They are joined by Marland Yarde, who returns to action in place of Denny Solomona following a two-week rest period.

Curtis Langdon, Ross Harrison and Coenie Oosthuizen provide plenty of nouse and experience as front-row replacements, whilst Jean-Pierre du Preez and Ben Curry offer further cover for the forwards.

Nye Thomas, Tom Curtis and Sam James cover the Sale back line.

Big news for Sale is that they are still without AJ Macginty (& Faff obviously) both will be big losses. Quirke missing too so their half back pairing is definitely one to go after

Great team. Very little change from the team selected last week. As expected then Martin is a second row replacement which I am really pleased to see. Very strong starting XV and some great options on the bench. Good to see Youngs back in the team.

Definitely think we will have the edge in the battle of the half backs. Youngs/Ford vs Warr/Wilkinson. Faff/Macginty would be a very different proposition but I feel we can get the edge here.

That pack is immense once again! Very solid team however Sale will be a tough test regardless of their inexperienced HBs. The powerful centre pairing will give Kelly and Scott a tough time, surprised Moroni isn't alongside Scott but I'm sure there's a good reason.

Feeling a little more confident having seen the 2 team sheets. :smt023
