Harlequins - Champions of the World

Post by dunc »

I get so frustrated in the way teams and players get overhyped at this time of year. Last year’s champions should be comfortably beating the team 2nd bottom. Bristol have been comprehensively beaten twice already and struggled to beat the leagues bottom club.

With the strange nature of the league last year I don’t think Quinn’s have really been tested yet. It’s one thing to turn on the glitz against a poor team not wanting to defend and happy to turn the ball over at will. It’s quite another doing it away in Dublin, Toulouse or Exeter. For me I’ll reserve judgement for a while yet.

What Quins did at the end of last season was remarkable as they came back from way behind in the semi and final. They go out to play a fast, entertaining game which the players enjoy and to be honest so do I. Europe will be a different challenge, as it will for us but for now I hope Quins continue to entertain and Tigers keep on winning. We haven’t beaten Sale for a long time!
