Don't think he had a poor game really.. exceptional in many respects, kicking from the tee was average with maybe a dozen points left out there but aside from that I thought he was greatRagingBull wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 9:38 pmI mean he had a poor game.
I don't see with saying that?

I’m guessing that new ACT global artificial grass surface wasn’t helping him from what it looked like.
I don’t think he trusted his footing and then the tee fell over twice on one kick.
Perhaps Burns should have come on but he might have been even less confident from practice during warming up!

Montoya for me but it's tight for the 16 jersey

Fordy was poor tonight, a world class fly half makes his kicks and he didn’t, if B Barrett didn’t do his job I don’t think he would get a pat on the back, he made lots of poor decisions, kicking the ball out on the full, looked shaky in his open play, hopefully just a blip but we have a decent fly half who can step in!!

Deeper runs the risk of it going dead youngs kick was only a couple of metres from being a good kickDaveRave wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 9:38 pmWe were on halfway and it was a box kick to the edge of their 22. Surely if you're going to kick you set it up for a deeper kick?amazing tiger wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 9:32 pm
It’s obvious you kick the ball there you don’t around in your own half every team or player would have done the same

Montoya 100%
Our scrum is creaky at times and obviously Montoya is a fantastic scrummager

Personally I thought we lacked more control in the game generally.OakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 9:42 pmDon't think he had a poor game really.. exceptional in many respects, kicking from the tee was average with maybe a dozen points left out there but aside from that I thought he was greatRagingBull wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 9:38 pm

He did make some amazing kicks though.

Leaning Dolly due to looking like he could prob cover back row if needed but also isn't giving anything in the way of basic hooker work

What was Lucky? The win? We were ahead nearly the entire match, missed a dozen or so points and apparently Foley isn't pinging people for holding on on the floor as there were so many times we were over the ball in those final phases but he let Glos play on.. had they gone on to level the match I would have been fuming! Foley was reasonable, by his standards pretty good but he seemed to allow Glos so much time at the breakdown when previous referees have been really quick to blow the whistle.. Right team won, we deserved it but lots of silly errors and missed points made it much closer than it should have been

Would love to see Saumaki with the way we are playing currently.

We definitely played Foley out of the game, which is what we need to do. As with last week we were good value for the win but we still have polish to apply. We're still only on year 2 of the rebuild so things are beyond my, and I bet most here if we're being honest, wildest dreams back in 2019. As the old wisdom goes, keep the faith!OakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 9:47 pmWhat was Lucky? The win? No, not that one!
Remember, whatever you do to the smallest of the backs you do to his prop, and you can't avoid the rucks and mauls forever...
I know you don't like it when I boo him but how else will he know he's wrong?

Can I just say.. 2 rounds played.. 10 points and we've played Exeter and a tricky away match against Glos. We have scored 8 tries, with some absolutely incredible backs play.. Potter, Steward and Nadolo looking undroppable.. (that said.. Saumaki and Murimurivalu are great options to come in)

A good win away at Glaws, the table will tell the story at the end of the season, away wins will be few and far between, some neutrals on other clubs forums were impressed by us tonight.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

10 points from the first two games. Cracking from the boys. Yep it was scrappy but we're still a work in progress.
Anyone saying Ford was awful might want to review the game in the morning when the drink has worn off. He was sensational in the first half, first part of the second half when we went to the kick heavy game plan he slipped in performance terms but he came back well to help secure the win. His kicking was a bit iffy off the tee but it didn't look as bullet proof last weekend as it did last season. I wonder how much kicking he actually did over the summer if he was rehabbing a leg injury.
